I agree, the way you get the burned finish is really unique, great stuff!

That new Ku is looking good!

that's a whole lotta chiseling' going on! Awesome stuff.

Capt'n-Yep i sure do like a beer or two towards the end of a days carv'n,learnt the hard way that its not real wise
to have to many whilst work'n as Ive gone out to the shed a couple of times to find some wacky look'n abstract mess which I'm
sure I probably thought was rad the day before.:)
Atomic mess,Amate,surf'ntiki and Harro-thanks guys.
Been busy get'n ready for friday nights open'n so not much progress on the KU but heres a few pics of where
he's at.

Thought throw this in for Jeff,my trusty 50's Malvern star

cheers Watango

Looks good! What chisel/gouge do you use to get your texture? .... and yea, I've been known to throw back a few brews while carving as well! But after a sliced finger or two, I have learned to drop the chisels after a few and do other tasks .... like sanding! Less harmful to the fingers!

P

nice malv...

and that ku is looking sick bro...you really got inspired in Hawaii! That is top notch...

Definitely SWEET Looking carvings Watango, Keep up the good work.

N

Another great carving in the works. Looking awesome!!

Thanks for the comps guys.
Here's some shots of the finished Ku,the log had a couple of
nasty knots in the back which gave me grief so the head dress is a little
rough in a few spots.

Cheers Watango

M

Beautiful finish on that last one! Loving these newly inspired carves!

Hi Watango,

Even though I'm not a fan of this kind of finish (sorry, just my opinion) you got some real good carving. Congratulations.

Here's a better shot out in the yard.

Cheers Watango

Personalized mug my good buddy Robbie (aka Swizzle) made for me. :) .

Cool! The Ku's finish came out pretty rad!
