I need to do a Moai. I did one as a planter, but gifted it as soon as it was done.

Mahalo for sharing

McTiki

Just can't go wrong with a classic Moai, the wood grain looks sharp too.

N

Cool Moai! And stubby looks good too!

P

S

Don't you like the taste of wood? :D I see you have a glass covering that Melbourne Bitter can. Looking good so far Campbell.

Here's the latest moai finished.

M

Beautiful Moai!

P

very nicely done Campbell...

what kind of wood?

Cheers guys , It's more of the white cypress , some close ups of the grain whilst it was wet , it's purty!

Smallest tiki carv'n so far , Yellow cedar shift knob, this guy was fun but some smaller chisels would of came in handy.

Night time shot of my carv'n shed.

Fire!

It'll be awesome! Just go deep! Problem solved!

Mahalo!

McTiki

Samll stuff is more fun carving with knives!!

P

we need a shot of that thing on the shifter and in the car...

Aloha station- Knives sound like the way to go with the small stuff, might even get away with
carv'n in the kitchen.

Jeff-I'll try an get of the shiftknob in the car for ya.

Here's a few shots of a piece I carved recently as experiment on going right thru with the
mouth.

Watango productions stall at Chopped Rod and Custom show.Had a top wkend despite the freez'n
cold , the rain Kept the dust down and turned the dirt track drags into a mud fest which was great as there was no shortage
of sweet cars prepared to get really muddy ! Stall went well , sold plenty of tee's as well as 3 good pieces so well worth the trip.

Cha-Ching.

I often carve on the couch. That's no easy feat - if you've met my wife. I leave the sanding for out by the pool.

P

ding ding ding!!!

^ that's the extra credit bell....

Thanks for the extra credit guys, might have to get real crazy soon and go thru everywhere I can!

Heres a few progress shots of my latest piece, pretty stoked with how this guys turn'n out!

Watango I agree with Jeff, that is my favorite. He has a tribal connection!

Amate -Jeff -Cy- thanks for the comps guys , I'm pretty stoked with how this guy turned out as he's my first carv'n that I had to give a feel of movement
too. Went with the usual finish but gave the drum a sunburst finish.

Cheers Watango

Do you think he looks wood'n! :)

M

Watango, that one is top notch!

Mahalo

McTiki

Very nice carve and finish....gotta love tikis and drums.

nice finish to a great carve.

That's another beauty!

That looks great, fantastic grain, what wood is that?

Thanks guys for all the kind words and encouragement, keeps me motivated.
Atomic mess - the woods cypress which can be a bit flaky but if you get good piece that has dry'd well
it's ok , a lot of it tends to split.
1 last pic with his new owners Phil an Cara who were stoked!!!

Cheers Watango

Been awhile since I've posted anything as I got pretty slack over the holidays (to much drink'n) , so here's some shots
of a Lono piece I started this week . Ther's plenty of log left on this guy so I'm planing on give'n this one a decnt headdress.

I saw Swizzle post on your thread so I thought I would check it out. I clicked on a page in the middle and up came this photo. You have my mug from La Mariana with the handle. Cool.

Your work is outstanding. Wendy

The new lono is coming along nicely. Still a lot of real estate to carve up top. Should be fun.

Hi Wendy , thanks for check'n out my thread. I bought your mug at La Mariana when I was there in March , we also visited Gecko and spent the arvo
hang'n out with him and Freddie drink'n beers an scoff'n down Mike's secret dip. Gecko's place was rad and see'n his work on mass was fantastic!
Cant wait to get back to Hawaii next year for Becky's 40th.

Hang10 , swizzle , Amate-thanks guys I'm happy with how this piece is com'n along.
Here's a few more pic's of where he 's at .

Cheers Watango

P
