Cheers guys for all the comps . Lono piece is almost there , one more session and hopefully it I'll be ready for finish'n.
Dig carv'n this fan palm and luckily i've got a few pieces left as it's hard to come by as people just dont cut these kind of palms
down round this neck of woods.

Cheers Watango

Very nice carving.

Thanks again Guys , pretty stoked with how the Lono turned out . Been getting requests for some smaller stuff of late so here's some shots of
a 12" Ku I carved yesterday, palm logs about 50" long so hope to get 4 heads out of it .Cheers

S

What are you doing? Look at the size of the headdress you could carve. :P

Smaller stuff - how about cutting the log in half and making some masks?

Nice work,man! i liiike!!!

Robbie- I'm goin to give all my pieces flat tops from now on.

Aloha S- Thats my next plan of attack Tom.

Rioturban-

Rioturban- Thanks glad likey!!

Rio turban-As you can see i'm all thumbs .Thanks

N

Awesome Lono and loving this new Head too. Cant wait to see what comes of the rest of that log!

Nixxon- cheers mate , good to see you back on T C

Here's a few more of my smaller pieces from the same log. Flattop Ku just for Robbie and a wacky guy that is for someone
who requested something different .

Cheers

S

Awww shucks Campbell, you shouldn't have.

Last guy finished , got a 2ft piece of this log left so I'm think'n small full bodied Ku.

Nixxon/Grimbo- Cheers guys , glad you likey.

Here's a few shots of what became of the end of the palm log , I was goin to carve a small full bodied piece
but ended up goin with a 2ft Lono head instead . usually I burn an sand my finished carves before stain'n but I
really dug the grain an texture of this guy so I just stained him as is.

And why not throw in some HULA GIRL action fom last weeks Unholy Rabble meet at the Luwow .

M

Awesome designs you got going on there.

keep em coming!

McTiki

Awesome pieces and pics, Watango. Love the traditional burning method!

P

cool lono...

I dig it...

Thanks guys , heres some shots of a 2ft Ash Marq i just finished ,not real happy with the finish might go darker.

I'm having similar thoughts on my last piece. It didn't finish the way I wanted.

Beautiful carve none the less!

Nice carving.

Beautiful as always Sir

Just to be obstreperous and difficult, I really dig that finish. Lovely work.

Cheers Guys , 2Ft Moai carved out of Oregon post with a light burn to highlight
the grain. Sent this piece off to a mate for some jade stain and one shot signage as It will be up for Auction to raise funds
to bring out the Jade Idol from Texas to play Chopped Rod and Custom Weekender .

Wow! Sweeeet!

Great carving - super smooth looking! Love the grain on that wood too.

Surf'ntiki / Poly - Cheers guys . Here's some shots of him painted up .

Your bud's a keeper.
The Moai's a classic, but,
the paint job's a knock out.
