-have a lot of My Collection stored away but dug out the NZ Tiki that My older Bro gave Me, back in the late '60s

but here it is! ONLY "Curse" was the older Brother Marrying a Pakeha from NZ!!

*If this is a cursed piece then about half of NZ households are cursed, as are the households of many thousands of travellers who have visited these shores... Im afraid it is the sort of thing that has been produced en masse for the tourist trade for many many years and are still seen nationwide.
Who knows though; maybe this particular one had some bad karma left over from a previous life, as a particularly nasty Aku-aku or something..? :lol:

-He's only short, about 6" high. Survived many a "Domestic" in the household since it was given to Me. Mum used to LOVE throwing things at My drunk ol' Man during fights & the NZ Tiki was a popular choice(?! Dunno why?!)I went & joined a Hippie Commune, run by a Kiwi of all people, who played Hawaiian Steel guitar with "Bill Wolfgramme & His Islanders" & later turned into a "Col. Kurtz" in the Aussie Bush, to get away from all the Family Fights. Luckily, My favourite Aunt saved the NZ Kiwi
along with the "Glasier Ice" & other boyhood memories, during My "Hippie" phase & that's why I still have him to this day. My ex-Sister in Law was a "Young" of the Hamilton Horse Stables "Youngs". The Kiwi "Guru" was from "Whitianga" in the "Bay of Islands" We had to listen to his singing Maori & Polynesian tunes for 5Yrs...& I later found out that he made half the Native words up!! Only "Tune" He's playing now is rattling his metal cup across the iron bars at Long Bay..My Older Brother was a Muzo(Jazz Musician-Pix of a young Tommy Emmanuel at our Family BBQs!)who later went to Vietnam as an Entertainer, so He brought back quite a bit of O/seas Curios.The "Brady Bunch in Hawaii" Ep hadn't come out yet, on Tv, so My Brother must of gotten the "Curse" story from some other source? "Adventures in Paradise" maybe, or "SurfSide 6"!!

Fabulous kiwi soap opera...and that evil little tiki has sure seen some action its time. I love his eyes. :D

-Yes, I'm glad they're not "Kahuna" Red eyes! "Orh-Hoe". Mum was given the "Mother-of-Pearl" Pendant & Bracelet. I remember having a "Maori" Stamp Licker, too, do any Kiwis out there, 'Mem that particular piece of Culturally Offensive Curio?
It was a tin can, had a Tattooed Maori face on it & by winding a small hand lever, the Tongue would protrude in & out of a slit cut into the tin with some spongey surface coating that would remain moist(like the sponge dishes in the Post office)that You could rub the stamps on then attach to the envelope! I search the Antique & OpShops for one, to no avail! Under a Kangaroo Scrotum Tobacco Pouch, or Kangaroo Paw Bottle Opener, no doubt! What I used to love most was the "Hungis" that my Brother would have in his backyard!
