Well it took a few years but I posted 1000 times. I'll start a new thread with a gallery of all my tiki-related images here. Will be adding much better pix than in the first thread, time permitting. "acrylic and oil on wood pallet" Now that's thinking outside the box (or in this case, under the box :) ) Very cool! The nails (?) at the top of the pallet, is that part of the art or some sort of guide during painting (or to keep the seagulls off)? |

Announcement: I have a show at the Basement Gallery in Boise for the months of March/April. I will also be hosting "The Vague" along with my coconspirator/collaborators. The Vague is an art show, a house party, and a balls out freak fest. The Vague will feature 5 visual artists to include painting, pottery, silkscreen, and multimedia, 3 bands, a jazz and triphop soundscape by DJ Sneakytiki, free Hawaiian food catered by Kanak Attack, wine, Polynesian fire dancers, raffles, The Vague will be held at the Old Fire House in Boise on Fri. March 6th 6pm -midnight-ish. |

Wow, your art is amazing, your work is very inspiring, I love the colours in the hula girl piece, very hot indeed...8) I can see that there is only a subtle difference between the finished tiki guy piece and the unfinished but it really does make it pop out at ya...much respect given to you my friend...:D Now where did I put my paint brushes... :lol: |

Oh Man! The Kanaloa on the reclaimed pallet. . . . . Genius! Did you gesso or otherwise treat it? or just paint directly on the raw wood? really dig using scavenged or salvaged materials. Man the whole concept of that piece is spot on. [ Edited by: thick 2009-05-15 02:26 ] |
