Just what we needed - a group of widening (in the middle) & thinning (on the top) middle aged men trying to grind the halfpipe X-Games style

Thank you to all the people who have booked so far, this is truly going to be an Awesome Event.

Usually a first time event is hands off for a lot of people because you don't know what to expect. You don't get sponsored or bands don't want to play because there is no back history and it's not worth the risk.

BUT!!!!!

Since Tiki Caliente and Mojave Oasis have a back history we got sponsorship so we can give out a quality product at a low price point and give out free samples.

also,we can truly keep it intimate and personal.

This is a ONE TIME EVENT,No Goin'Primitive 2 will take place,so don't miss out.

Don't miss out on the Event Mug that will be created for people on grounds only......We will allow 2 per person at a Events only price. It being a one time event with a mug created by David Wong/Grog in the U.S.A. will make this truly a mug to have

Be ready to be entertained

Concept mug,not final version

Test Glaze Mug for Goin'Primitive now on Ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260844508353#ht_500wt_1135

Good Luck

If you can't make it to Goin'Primitive this October this might be the closest you get to the event style mug.

Actually Crazy Al is kind of correct with his answer. Goin'Primitive will be a one time event BUT Amy and myself plan on teaming up for an October Event every year with a different direction. We may even flip-flop between Mojave and Palm Springs. As Tiki Caliente is midcentury modern tiki and Mojave Oasis is more old school, we thought this would be a good way to express other idea's. Also, with a secondary event it makes it possible to keep the events more intimate and control able by size.

So every year we will spin a new project with new artist and something you have to truly not miss because you will not see it again.

Hope you can make it,
W

it's time! to stop eating! that's right... you got a little over a month to slim down so that grass skirt in the closet fits....

I suggest eating grubs and tubers for the most part... stop driving anywhere and start walking the 50 miles to work... not to mention literally 'running' down your dinner every night till party time this October!

that Tiki Ray loves Ribs!! especially mine! (I here Kirb real got to work on his primitive look after seeing himself in this picture....)

Poi and then some....

I've got a head start on you guys... been working on the look for a while.... bananas and bugs are a lean diet and quite affordable for the artist's budget.

However it looks like i have lots and lots to work on...

i hope it's nice and hot out there! if its under 90 you will see me with a parka on...
if it is warm maybe some of the fellers could join in the dancing this time.

Wildsville, I applaud your stamina. I got no idea how you have the energy/time to take charge of two events a year...

Thank you very Much for the kind comments.

I am lucky enough i get to split the workload with a partner on this event. As Tiki Caliente is getting a little larger,i long to have a smaller event again and be able to brake the formula from my other event.

I always loved the Steven Crane Luau Mug's that were loud and looked nothing like tiki mug's. They looked more like birds.

So it opened my mind to have an event poster and mug that did not have a tiki in it,but it was still a tiki event.

Hey Al,

I know there is a way to cast items in tinted translucent resin to give you the look you're after. I found this site where a sculptor shares his process using Smooth Cast 325 resin:

Hope this helps.

i'm going to want to remodel our side yard tiki where the trailer use to be,can you suggest someone inexpensive who may be able to design and do the space? it is a rectangle about 24 feet by 40. not real big but want to design something with a tin roof where oceanic lights can be up in the ceiling, a cool bar and sitting area. maybe you can suggest someone that could roughly even lay it out for us?????

The recipe for "Sperm of Kong" is almost finalized. Changes have to be made due to a couple of incidents of causing pregnancy in males.

I think I just threw up a little bit in my mouth.

Wow, that's impressive. Terrific photos. Grog you be the man of ceramics! Wendy

This is what the Official Goin'Primitive Mug is to look like. After 4 Different Versions of Test Glazes.

First version we changed into an Artist Proof because it looked so different. Then Ernie created 3 versions to get it right.
1 Coat,2 Coats,3 Coats.

This Version is a 3 Coat Mug that is hands Sprayed and hand detailed (Not Dipped) and then cleaned off by hand.

After you book your spot you will be able to pre buy the official mug....These are limited to 100 and for On Grounds people only.

Great choice for the final glaze! It's a thing of beauty!

Indeed!

Thanks Rory, Tobor64, Kurt, and Tami for helping out with mugs this last weekend.

We might actually get a couple finished in time for the event.
( just trying to make Rory a little nervous )

Thanks Maddoggy and Sven. The color's a little washed out in Rory's photo, but the final glaze combo worked out well.
