Tiki Caliente 5 Room Crawl/Room Party Headquarters

As always, the room crawls are not an official part of the event for many reasons. However, they are very popular and a great way to meet people in our community, enjoy many great cocktails, decked out rooms and great music.

The crew of the Zen Tiki Lounge podcast have been tasked with running the crawl this year. In addition to following this thread you can listen to ZTL podcast for details. http://www.zentikilounge.com and on iTunes

Room Crawl: Short room events, usually about 30 minutes. Hosts invite Crawlers into their rooms to try their cocktails. Some rooms offer a drink and some go beyond and decorate their room and even include music and or a band. There are no rules.

Room Parties: These are usually the rooms that keep their door open a little longer, decor and music are more likely, but there are no rules. Themed rooms are often some of the best.

Hosts: Whether you are hosting again or trying it for the first time, you are opening up your room to Crawlers to have a good time and enjoy whatever kind of experience you want to offer. Don’t worry about having to out do anyone else. Just have fun. You can host a Room Crawl or a Room Party. Hosting a room does not mean you have to spend a ton of money. You can choose a short time slot and make as much drink as you want. It is recommended that you make a batch of your drink(s) so that you can pour quickly and keep the lines moving.

Crawlers: You are the GUESTS attending the room crawls and room parties. All Tiki Caliente paid (wristbands) guests are welcome to participate but you should sign up by replying to this thread so the hosts have an idea of how many to plan for. It is expected that you behave yourselves and lend to the festive atmosphere without causing trouble. You will want to have small bills handy, as tipping the bartenders in the rooms is HIGHLY encouraged because the hosts are not charging you for drinks and have spent a good sum of their own cash. Bartenders do not like being stiffed.

Crawls will occur on Friday evening, Saturday and the earlier part of Sunday during the event. We limit time slots so that Tiki Caliente guests can experience as much of the live music and room events as possible. Time slots have been posted below. Room hosts can indicate which time slot they would like by sending an email to [email protected]

Yes! There are prizes for participating hosts in the following categories: 1. Overall best cocktail. 2. Overall best room party. 3. Best theme/decor. Prizes will be awarded on Sunday at the event. Judges will be the hosts of the Zen Tiki Lounge podcast and Lead Bartender Kelly Merrell of Trader Sam’s.

Need Help? Ask Sunshine Tiki. In addition to hosting the Zen Tiki Lounge podcast, Sunshine has been hosting room crawls and room parties for most of the past decade. Maybe you have been to one of our ZTL room parties at Tiki Caliente, Taboo, Mojave Oasis or Tiki Oasis. Im happy to offer tips on planning your room event, how to mass produce your drinks, music suggestions etc.

Hosts, here are the suggested time slots for crawls and room parties. Please send your request for a time slot to [email protected] and indicate what time you prefer, a second choice of time, give your room a name (optional), let us know if you want to compete or just host a room. If you prefer a full hour vs. 30 min, just let us know. You can suggest a time you do not see but judges may not be able to judge other time slots.

Sunshine Tiki, You just scared the s...traw out of me when I saw the dates listed above the time slots. It's in 2 weeks????
Anyway we would like to take a slot for a room crawl, Saturday 3:30 or 4pm would be great. Thanks all Tiki gods, we still have time to improve on our drinks!

Aloooohaaaaa! Please put me down as a crawler (god knows I will be by the end of the night), plus ONE. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Wildsville brings to Palm Springs this year. My guess? Fabulousity. (Not a word, but it is now.)

It's crunch time for planning room crawls and room parties. Polish up those cocktail recipes, try them on as many friends as you can. Most of the time slots are filled for room hosts, but always more room for crawlers. Please check out the first page of this thread for all the details on hosting and crawling at Tiki Caliente 5.

Zen Tiki Lounge is featuring two drinks. "Jeannie's Wish" was so popular at Mojave Oasis we are bringing her to TC5 along with another NEW cocktail. Join ZTL at our room party on Saturday night at 11pm "Inside Jeannie's Bottle."

As of this post there are just 12 days left to get one of our ZTL mugs made by PopTiki of Colorado. This awesome 24oz orange moai named Big Orange Richard is $45 if you pick up at Tiki Caliente and just a few bucks more if you would like him delivered to your home. Send an email to: [email protected] quickly to let us know you want a mug before the kiln cools down. We will send you a paypal request and hook you up.

I would Like to thank the Zen Tiki Lounge crew for setting up the Room Crawl/Parties.

As the event planner we are requested by our liability company to have these events as Non-Official.

Please remember to Tip if you enjoy the drink and to respect the persons room. The host is responsible for any damage to their room so be a good guest and respect your host.

The Host has the ability to turn you away or refuse to serve you if they want. It is a private room.
Also,
We will have a security person outside the room looking for wristbands and making sure your O.K. to enter.

I sent Brian (Sunshine Tiki) a breakdown or the Friday/Saturday time slot's for official activities and he will be closing up the open slot's.
