Hey Flounder, Stefan and I just got the two burlap paintings you posted at the start of this thread. They're amazing! Right away we had an argument about lighting, placement and framing.. A little too early for decorating fights as our ceiling is getting put in this week. Thanks again! |

Not being a art aficionado, I just buy what I like. Flounder, I noticed on your site that it describes your work as Lowbrow art. I am curious how Lowbrow Art applies to your work? |

I don't necessarly think of my tiki art as lowbrow but alot of my other works like the seven deadly sins with cartoon charaters definitely falls into that catagory. Any time you bring religion and cartoons into the same catagory I think it makes it lowbrow. Under my Playa's section you will find the same. |

Very nice for Hale Tiki. If I act like your "art" assistant can I get some of your free drinks? Awww - never mind - somebody's gotta pay. I'll use the money I saved by remaining a non-gold-star-getting outcast. |

I just wanted to post a picture of one of Flounders paintings I have (Uti) in a Monkeyman frame. Flounders paintings are so real looking it's scary! The burlap background gives it such an interesting texture. I am very happy with the final product. They compliment each other very well. Thanks again Scott! Dawn, That looks awesome! Monkeyman did a great job. Ben, most of the burlap tikis are not my design they are existing tikis that people want painted on burlap so feel free to carve them. Tanked, there's been some talk! |

Yesterday, Wahine Marian and I had the rare opportunity to visit with Flounder and his soul-mate Meg in Cocoa. Flounder's place is not easy to find. He's way back in the woods where he can find complete isolation to work out his mad vision of tiki. [ Edited by: kailuageoff on 2004-02-22 07:21 ] |

Not only would Flounder not have a place to paint, moving the trailer would ruin the Feng Shui... Actually, Flounder's place is pristine. It's so clean you could eat off the floor. You could even sleep in the closet. |

Here's a couple new burlap's. Lousey pics as always. The Cannibal burlap at the top of this thread is probably the best representation of the quality of the burlap's. Live they are very soft with lots of depth. Hawaiian Inn: Original Art by Flounder [ Edited by: FLOUNDERart on 2004-03-16 09:05 ] |
