Will there be
Plastic Doll Rollerskate Dancing?

You wanna hear some SAD CLOWN type stuff?

This photo is from the Commercial news of Danville,Illinois
where i did a lots of my growing up.....
This is a couple
who collect those scary almost life-size dolls
and.... in lieu of having real kids
they drag their dolls around!
and shop for them
take them to the Custard Cup on Vermillion St.
etc. etc.

SCARE-EEEE!

i just KNEW there was something in the water there.....

Hey Kinny

On BBC America there is an entire program about this type of people. I'll see if I can find a link.

Jen

And amazingly, the guy with the doll looks like someone who dresses as a clown.

Straight up Clownin.....

Do the ClownShoeDance!
bitches!

MR

Finally getting started on art for this thing. Man, I lag! Can't wait to see everyone!

im gonna try to make it up for this opening, sounds like a hoot!

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...rumor has it that the Farmer MIGHT have Mugoomba open for an after-party.

AND, Grog might have something in the show...

Toe - that painting is thoroughly sick and twisted! Yes, that's a compliment, but dont expect me to linger near it too long.

Dave - keeping the fingers crossed for a Mugoomba after party, and GO GROG!

P.S. I got a Facebook friend request from this fella recently. Will he be coming to your clown party?

Breaking News

TC resident, Sleestak, (Dave Warshaw) will be showcasing what was in a rare episode of Land of The Lost...wait, it was never in that show! Anyway, who wants to see a SLEESTAK CLOWN?!?!?!?!!?!? MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

alright!
Sleestak in the hizzy!
Can't wait to see you and your muttonchops,Dave!

Here are 2 offerings for the exhibition
a little more refined
than the slapstick 2-dimensional approaches
most commonly tackled by artists
when painting these masters of mirth...
but there's more...much more..
behind the greasepaint.....
I have faced the GREAT CLOWN
and he is US!

"Sad Clown" (working title)
acrylic and cel vinyl on 16x20 masonite

"Coulorophobia"

Now we're cooking!

I'm with Ravenne.

This gets creepier by the minute.

L

SO I am not a fan of the Sleestak itself ...BUT I really think you draw/paint them awesome!

Is this on velvet?

I love it!

It does look like artwork I would stumble across in a thrift and be like "Holy crap! I NEED me this!"

You should frame it up in one of those cheap wood mexican frames that most velvets come in regardless if its not actually on velvet just to add to its overall kitschy appeal

S

it is not a velvet but that was my goal! im stoked it came across like that! it is actually a digital painting i did when i broke my kneecap in half! some of you probably remember me stumbling around oasis with mug and crutches! fun!! thx and rethink your dislike for our sleestak neighbors, they just want to hang like everybody else!

Dave, did you say there are going to be balloon animals?

This is what I meant in my PM by your stuff being as good as anything found in a museum. Absolutely top notch work! It seems there is something almost religious in many of your concepts, (especially in that one with all the trumpets that my girlfriend and I were gawking at which you had at your show in the art colony of santa ana.)

Don't forget kiddies, not only are some of your favorite TC artists gonna be there, but there's a whole mess of artists you may have never even heard of. So come down and check out their talent.

You can even support a local tiki establishment the same day, by having dinner/drinks prior to the show at Hapa J's.

WHAT TIME DOES IT START FOR THE PUBLIC?

WHAT TIME YOU WANT US ARTISTS
(except Clysdalle who NEVER helps set up! IT'S TRUE!)
TO GET THERE TO HELP HANG THIS MONSTROSITY OF AN EXHIBITION?

DO WE TAKE OUR PIECES DOWN AT THE END OF THE NIGHT?
we need some details,man...

My Life-Size Homicidal Robot Clown is juuuuuust about finished....
