That puffer float one ups anything I've seen !
Thank you for challenging all the float lite makers out there to constantly build a better mouse trap!

TT

After much deliberation and calculating, I will guess that the rattan chain is exactly as long as you created it to be, and just as long as it needs to be.

Wow!!! I can't believe I won. Thanks!!!

Ok Tom your light went out yesterday.
Here is all 30' 3'' of chain.
I think it works out to like 70 cents a foot.
And thats with ten bucks of shipping.
So this is a great cheap way to decorate your bar.
Or tiki christmas tree garland.

T

Is that pufferfish in a net, in a glass ball? Looks completely different than anything out there.

I love that new puffer in a globe! Totally looks like something that you would see at the bahooka

very creative and different way of netting the globe too. Your lights are one-of-a-kind and in a league of their own.

T

Wow, Polynesiac thank you so much!!!
I can remember looking at your lights on TC
and thinking I wish I could do that.
Then I did one and it kinda worked.
So thanks for the inspiration.

Love the lamps. Tikiskip you have some serious patience & talent. Really enjoy drooling over all you great stuff.

If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything

T

Hey Brice were done with that.

"THE WINNING NUBER IS 30' 3'' Will contact winner later today!!!"

But thanks for playing.

Did you get my TC message about the lights?
Tried to use the email address but it bounced back.
Let me know.

T

Hey enough of that, bring on the lights!!!
First one is a kinda medium size.
Your tiki bar needs basket lights.
Don't see enough in home bar pic's ( I'm going ot fix that brass hanger on top)
ie age it.
The rest are small to medium.
Have been asked about larger lights a lot.
When I had large ones it took forever to sell em.
Plus the shipping is so high.
But I will start on some large ones next.
After I get done with a custom light for the guy who bought my ebay light.
Green float light, you know who you are, Thank you!!!

so are these for sale?
how much?

T

I hope to go to Hukilau and sell but don't know if I can yet.
But yes almost every light I make is for sale.
Will pm ya.

Want to see the large batch of lights I sent to the tree house?
Go here!!!!
http://www.tikicentral.com/viewtopic.php?topic=20143&forum=18&start=last&379

T

This is what I plan to take to Hukilau.
I will have at least twice this by then.

Now that's a selling display! Love the yellow float lower right hand corner. I really like how you tied the rattan strips (?) to hold the globe. Reminds me of the globe lights from the TV in germany that pics were posted on TC a while ago. Very vintage looking!

T

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Polynesiac GOOD eye that's where I got the idea for that light!
I think it was the Trader Vic bar book?

T

One more thing.
New light sold to ebay person who got the red one.
Hope you like.

TWO

Beautiful. Top notch work again Skip.

T

Thank you Mr. Won.

And to the ebay person who had a question about a light on the left
in the photo above.
Can you PM me here?
That way I can answer your questions.
Thanks,
John

T

Here are a pair of lights that Tiki David gave me.
Thanks David!!!
David said they were from the Kon Tiki restaurant.
Don't think that they were lights before.
Well they are now!
They have a nice red glow.
Pic # 2 show the top hat, Had to redo the stitching on the hat.
These things were a mess when I got em.
Going to use these at the may 1st Kahiki tiki party at the Hills market.
Will post pic's of them haging and glowing.

W

Those last two are sweet! I'm not having any trouble finding the baskets but I can't find the tops anywhere.

What are the cylinders on the bottom for?

Nice lamps!

T

What are the cylinders on the bottom for?

Those are not part of the lights.

Here is a light I was trying to get lit for
the Kahiki party on may 1st.
Croe got it at the Trader Vic's warehouse sale for me.
Thanks Caroline!!!
Well when I got it there was no lining or light in it.
So if you did light it you would see the light bulb.
That kinda drives me nutz, seeing the bare light bulb that is.
Here it is burned, shellacked, lined and lit.
Took a lot of time to put the 40 or so pieces of paper in this light, one at a time.

T

Your new lamp looks perfect. And its cool that anybody got anything from the Vic warehouse but you got something extra cool and then went and gave some TLC to it. It looks old yet new old. like its been around but not weathered from a river.

How'd you get that chain to stick to the wall like that? (hehe) Joking aside -you have the lamp thing down pat, always looking forward to seeing what you have in the works for us next...

T

Thanks Howland!

And HAPPY 4th EVERYBODY!!!

Ok so we just got back from Cali and wow what a trip!
Went to a bunch of places and took a lot of pic's.
I would say that half of my photos were knots.
Yep, pictures of knots.
Not just any knots, but ones from old ships, like the Star of India.
Went to the San Diego ships museum, Go if you can.
But Skip, what does that have to do with tiki?
In the next few posts I will show you how you can use some knots for tiki decor.
Here is a great book I found on knots and how to tie them.

T

Will use that one later.

Hey Fla guy here's the start to your lights.
Going to make some extra for Festiki.
Hope ty be done by Weds.

Tiki Skip meets Tiki-Ti

T

Thanks for the pic Bora Boris!
It was great to meet you!
Also thank you for guiding us around after Tiki Ti.

I gotta say having one of my lights hanging in the Tiki Ti is
such a great honor, it really is.
That place has such tiki history and a great vibe to this day.
Thank you all for a great time in Cali.

A smorgasbord of lighting goodies. Wow. I'm inspired to buy one now, tikiskip :)

S

Beautiful!!! I've been wanting to get one of the little lanterns for a while now, and will try to get one at Festiki from you! Love all of them! :D

T

I got a person in California, Florida and one in Hawaii
asking at this time about lights.
I put the pictures up so they could see what I have for sale at this time.
All but the resin tiki light is for sale now, that one is going on ebay.
I sell em when I got em, no need to wait.

Sick resin work tikiskip!

T

Wow those are awesome! Nice work!!

Great stuff skip! :)

I love the "new" knots!!

Cheers and Mahalo,
Jeff
