I know Sven pirates aint Tiki..
But I did make the cool holder that goes with this light.
Want to do a how to on this holder thing, for the two or three people watchin this thread.
Someday.....

Hope you like.

Welcome to TC Slouchy. I see you've found tikiskip's wonderful work. Since you're new around here, head over to General Tiki and look for the introductions thread. We'd love to know more about you.

Im digging the Piratee lamp skip!

Love the hanging lantern look you got there Skip. While it certainly has a POC look to it, it also gives me the impression of a lamp that has been hanging in a dark, smokey bar for a long time. Very cool look and vibe coming from it. I look forward to seeing more about it.

Thanks all!
And welcome Slouchy73.
Did you see I have a how to here.
And some good stuff also here on building your tiki bar.
Good luck, and have fun....

Should we be worried about this? your not going to pull a "George Michael"?

T

Well um no ATP...
But I have been asked to try and keep an eye on the restrooms,
make sure they are clean and have toilet paper.
Maybe if the booth gets slow I will go in the mens room and be
one of those guys that hands you a towel and has gum and cologne
out.

"here is a towel sir.. gum, cologne, buy a light?"

Loving the wall brackets. Those should be really popular.

  • Dale

:D :D :D :D

I enjoyed your new art and the whole conversation with ATP. Wendy

The bamboo wall bracket is great. I just bought a large fish float and I need a way to hang it.

T

Thanks Lori.
I will make more of these after Hukilau but will add a base
so that you can mount to a wall better.
No time to do this now.
Will post pic's

AND if you are going to Hukilau remember I will be by the restrooms in the art area
of the vending spots.
This will be your best time to get one of my lights as I have about five people to make lights for
when I get back, plus summer fun, all this will put me into next year till I can make more lights
for others.
So get em now.
Thanks!

I would like to thank all who bought my lights
at 2013 Hukilau.
It's one thing to say "great light" but when you plunk down
hard earned cash in these lean times, well that says it all to me.
I gotta say the best night at the Hukilau for us was Tuesday at Swankys, great to meet you Ted.
And just hanging out with a small group is my style really.
Thanks Tim!!
Also drinks with Danny and wife plus Tim in Kerns office second best part of Hukilau.
Would also like to thank all of the other vendors at the Hukilau, they are the unsung heros of the
event and for the most part pay to come and be part of the spectacle that is Hukilau.
Same thing for the bands really, Great bands all weekend.
We were hit right at the first hour and by the end of the first day Thursday
we had I think only 6 out of over thirty lights left Thursday night, and sold the rest
on Friday.
The big one I had went to Tiki Tom D, this is a bigger version of the one that hangs in
Svens tiki house.
Tom had me make 9 feet of chain for this light as seen in photo, Thanks Tom....
One light even went to England!
I love it when my lights leave the USA and keep records of where my lights go when I can.
If you did buy a light post a photo here or pm me here and let me know where it went.
Forget where the double bubble light went (one of my favs) but I know it was to
a cute Tiki girl who was very appreciative.
THANKS AGAIN ALL!!!

Nice variation on the classic float lamp!

K

Very cool!

W

That lamp is great! Do you sell anywhere online?

HT

Agreed on the paper.
You're the man, John.

I agree, no paper, it's a nice variation and spikey cool!

T

Thank you all, and thanks for the feedback.

"That lamp is great! Do you sell anywhere online?"
No not really, eBay is online so kind of you could say.
Making lights now for Christmas on eBay.
For the most part I try to get some lights(3 lights) up on eBay before
and then after Christmas, and then a few in the spring.

Here's how you can tell that it is a Tikiskip light...
First the sockets are all signed and have my logo plus they are
the kind of sockets that really screw in not that push in type.
Also I have over ten foot cords on all of my lights as I hate short cords.

There are a few of the over 200 lights I have made that do not have logos
on them,(15?) these are the first lights I made.

Thanks for lookin!

T

Skip,
I haven't checked in a while. The deadhead in the basket is great. The float lamp is really cool too. Looks like you did OK at the Hukilau.

T

Thanx TP!
Going to get to start on lights now that summer travel is
done for awhile.
Got some great stuff to work with and ideas to try.

S

Skip, it was great to host you two for a change!

And you are right, I need a fish float lamp. Or 2. A pretty big one, but I have to think about just how it will hang. Not a ton of head room, so, think about the length of the hanging rope up top. I think you are also right about blue. Holla and we'll get it/them ordered!

That'll really help complete the Hideaway!

T

Tim it was great to see yer place, looks great!
One of the best home bars we have been to.
This is the light you and about 75% of all the home bars I have seen need.
A light to read drink recipes by.
Got this one for Blake here in Ohio but his wife put a moratorium on new lights
in his bar.:)

On the blue light Monkeyman wants a blue as well, Have two that may work for you both
will let you both know when they are done.
Again thanks for you and Stephanie's hospitality.

T

Here are a matched pair of blue float lights.
They are 5 inches wide by 12 inches long.
The person who wanted these needed them to be short.
Note to self, "it is not easy to untie these floats to shorten them"
Blue, Blue, blue, everybody wants Blue.
Hope you like em.

T

Ok so I sold this light at Hukilau, and TTD hung it up and said "Skip this cord is
not working for me like that".
I said "Yer right"
So I made him this to help out that ulgy cord problem.
It's the small stuff that puts your tiki spot over the top I think.
Thanks Tom, Gotta pack it and get costs.

Many thanks for the beautiful lights and for the installation help!

T

Thanks Jeff and Jeff.

Looks great Tom!
You have done a great job on your bar, heck the whole house!
Thanks again for buying my lights so they can be a part of it.
I think the small details like what you hang the lights with are often overlooked.
It's always nice to see photos of my lights in the bars/homes where they hang.

T

Here are some floats.
The first one is a new tie style for me.
Used an online instruct posted here somewhere.
It was harder than the way I tie em.
But it looks good.
Green one is sold, forget where it went.
Got some new old stock rope to tie with.
Going to do some big floats I have been putting off.

Been a kind of messed up summer.
Hot tubs broke, mowers broke, I'm broke.

NOS rope, didn't think I would ever see those words used together

T

Yeah, thanks Mike.
You got to find the old stuff if you can.
A big roll of cordage that size new would not be cheap.
Plus with the old stuff your aging is half way done for you.
Hate to see new tied floats with new rope tied on them.
(It's like a white wall in a Tiki bar to me)
Here is a large 9 inch wide by 23 inches long float in blue, the globe is plastic.
Is this what you had in mind?
