Aloha TC Ohana!
man! What a week!
Finally got the studio cleaned and organized enough to begin working again!
And just finished a TOP SECRET job
that i can share with you next week....
patience is a virtue...

Well, this weekend
i shall share some more of my PNG (Papua New Guinea)inspired artwork!
The rawness/power/and bold naive graphic sensibility
belies a raw genius within a more primitive socieity than our own....

and honestly...
their skullracks carry a strange attraction
The figure looks comical and happy
yet it's adorned with skulls!
go figger...

pennjones-Thank you! There's more! Enough to keep you spellbound for years to come! I've done a few glow-in-the -dark pieces...Sometimes without telling the patron! heeheeee!

talo ka-Mahalos!That's actually one of my favorites in the
cannibal contemplative series that grew outward from that!
I love how his tears are just flying off his face! :)

Clarita! I wish i could fly ALL of my friends to this Nov 6th show....
Each one of you has brought the gift of love, inspiration, and laughter
to my art-hermit life
and for that I'm grateful....
Much Aloha and Hugs to YOU!

Benzart-Look who's talking,old friend!
You're a virtual carving factory yourself there!
It's so great to be able to share and exchange art and ideas with all youse driven crazyfolk!

Where and How do you find the time and energy to create this Incredible stuff And keep your Sanity? (Oh Yeah,, forget the sanity question, heh) And Then you STILL make time to Post all this beauty for us to see.

naps and coffee and a tattered social life...
:)
and I'll always have a spare bud for a talented carving friend!
:)

Alrighty...
here's some more PNG work
Maybe all of it
if i get possessed enough to upload and type that many titles...
Y'know... It's not the titles that killya
it's the medium...

GROG like "Island Volcano" and Sun and Islands" the best out of the bunch.

Yes Wendy.... i DO sleep!
but sometimes not much because i take powernaps every so often
and the coffee doesn't hurt!
Plus, for an event,I'll just glean thru old sketchbooks and pieces and try to flavor em up....
Sometimes taking an abstract palm doodle and building on it til it's something new!
Sometimes they pop up in dreams, but subject matter in those dreams is usually culled from:
1)whatever was on my reading material before bed
2)a nice bath and the thinkin time accompanying it
3)whatever i was painting that evening
stuff just seeps out.....Glad you enjoy visiting and discovering,m'dear!

Thanks Ernie! Still trying to think up a worthy BOB...
There's so much creative possibilities and you kids are nailing it!
Gonna see if i can scrounge up enough time to bang one out...
"Sun and Islands" is one of my faves out the bunch as well..
i think it's the playfulness and the colors....
these pieces fly by so fast that i think they absorb that mana quicklier!

well ,here's some more from the weekend...
still some more to shoot and a couple more almost done
so stay tuuuned! :)

You go through a lot of orange and green paint. :P

Well, warm colors are inviting.

Ernesto-You sure DON't go thru a lot of paint..

GROG going through glazes, it's like painting but worse.

it's like painting when you're color-blind,huh?

I was once told by an art instructor that to have a painting sell you must add pink. I think you proved him wrong Kinny. Every one of your orange and green paintings look terrific. No pink at all. Hugs, Wendy
