Ken,
So you couldn't convince Doug to share a shrunken chunken with us wee folk? Or is he just waiting until the final moment for dramatic effect?

Peace,
Jason <

Great piece, Kele!

Man, I am drawing a big, fat BLANK on this one, so I guess I'm out.

Hopefully I'll have better luck with the next theme...

Have Fun, Everyone!

Couldnt handle missing out on the fun. I jammed down to the studio and painted this ugly
guy kinda quickly. He feels sorta 70s monster black lightish to me. Im going to try another more
vintage feeling one tomorrow night. Got to get some more velvet ASAP, time is shrinking :)

Nice addition MP!

That's a great look MP, if I squint I can see a little Basil Gogos in there.

Never had a thing for Shrunken Heads - so this is the first swap that I'm out. Sorry.

c'mon ALoha....it doesn't need to be shrunken heads...think of any of the headhunter tribes, thats gotta inspire something....your stuff is awesome. My wife absolutely loves the pendant from the PNG swap....and I get to steal it off her and where it when she's not looking.

empee shoots.....
and SCORES!

great last minute addition there,bud!

Well, I'm here at work and brought BIGTOE some Aquarelle Watercolor paper
and it looks like he's up to the challenge!
Guilt works wonders...
(also he saw empee's head and said.....
and i quoteth...

IT's ON!

done my part...
you are free to harass any other HH-ers!

and Jason-talked to Doug about it during the weekend...
i think he's more into clowns these days....

B

Tikiville how wonderful to gather all the art together, thank you. I've changed the hair and made it look like there is hair behind the head too. This is the final submission, Wendy

If it's not too hard you could swap out the photo for the final one.

BT

Hope I'm not too late. An unexpected friend came to town over the weekend and totally killed my work time.
But I hit it pretty hard tonight, last minute and got it wrapped up.

"somewhere up in northern Luzon...

...direct from a elder tribesman - traded for a bottle of Ginebra San Miguel"

or so this story goes - I bring forth this interesting trinket of WWII - something I was given by my grandfather -

  • now trinket or not this item must be held with the highest respect. pull back the leaves and take a peek -

  • see? a piece of Kalinga law in action...not a pretty sight..japanese. perhaps

My humble gift to this art swap -

  • and under midnight  G
Z

Nice one, ever'body!! These are the cats pyjammas!

Curious as to swap mechanics...
Are the names a 2 way trade, or is it utterly random? F'r instance, if I send an item of Mo-Mo ness to person X, will I automatically get a return piece from them? Or do the winds of fate dictate where my heady goodness will come from?
(I'm good either way...)

Badd Tiki - great stuff and just in time!

Thank you to the big hitters... you guys make us wee ones feel like family :)

After a long search, I came across the ceremonial wooden bowl recovered by my great uncle, Microft Stockington, on one of his many adventures deep into the jungles, encountering and documenting the lives of primitive tribes. My understanding is he barely escaped with his life but was able to somehow barter a small magnifying glass and a pair of striped boxer shorts for this, Chief Patia's ceremonial bowl, sized perfectly for a shrunken head and emblazoned with a depiction of an enemy chief's shrunken visage. I considered donating it to the Smithsonian but couldn't resist sharing it with the TC family.

This is submission #2 for me... happy I was able to complete in time... hope you enjoy...

oops... that's not it... how did that get in here?

here we go...

Chief Patia's Ceremonial Wooden Bowl... oooh... aaah.... Smithsonian, eat your heart out.

to give you an idea of the bowl's depth... perfect for some stewed brains, perhaps?

sorry for the poor phone camera pics... me thinks you will enjoy it even more in person!

Peace,
Jason <

A picture of the officially unofficial 'Little Mo-Mo Fang Club' members package. Includes sticker, painting, pamphlet, and button. Also included, a secret surprise from the famous and nonexistant MoMo Lounge in Sunny Zeroland, California! (not pictured)

Rule 1 of MoMo club:
It's OK to talk about MoMo club.

Rule 2 of MoMo club:
There aren't really any rules, so....

Momo club. it's not just a club, it's a figment.

page 17 has an UPDATE with all the items so farin one post!
turning out to be a fitting tribute from the artists at TC ,for the shrunken contribution these poor souls gave.
( Oh, danlovestikis...done ! thank you for the request)

[ Edited by: TIKIVILLE 2010-04-15 10:06 ]

Strong looking finish, but the days not done yet! What mysteries are still waiting to be discovered?

R

not a heavy hitter, but still an entry dammit!

I had shrunken monkeys on the brain ever since I heard about the theme, so I did a cutesy one.

"ShrunkenneMonkee"
12 x 16 Canvas board
Oil Pastels

All the entries RAWK!

I really hope there are more! :D

V

A cool assortment of shrunken oddities!

I've decided that I am going to ship my little shrunken fellow sans-frame. I have a big ol' faux antique frame over here for it, but it weighs 10x more that the face, and it is REALLY big. I figure that you crafty folk may prefer to choose your own frame - or maybe make your own! The clay should fit into the opening of a 4x6 frame - but you may need to sand the frame a bit to help with the fit. I'll discuss more with whomever draws my name from the pot.

Mahalo,
Henrik

Has there been a time set for the announcement? MIDNIGHT TONIGHT? mmmmmmaybe?

I'm leaving tomorrow....leeeeeeavin on a jet plane....outta town for 10 days...
I won't get "your" piece til I get back... therefore, squealing will be delayed.

Hoping the random drawing happens soon too, before I leave town next week. I am so ready.

I don't recall providing a mailing address. Do we need to do that as in other swaps?

Ravers, your monkee rocks!!! :)

Bongo, you'll swap addresses with your partner via PM after the names are paired.

I just wanna say this....."I'm excited about not only the outcome of this, but also the sheer creativity that is being expressed and shared. Looking over the post on page 17 is really fun and inspirational. Which one is soon to become a part of your world?!!" I also want to say this..."I'm am proud that I feel pretty sure I have not made any typographical errors on this post so far considering how drunk I am."

Ooops...excuse me...pardon...errr, uhhh... y'all got room for one more?? I'm in...

..................................................IATMUL TROPHY HEAD...............................................

Closing in on the deadline... can't wait to see which one of these beauties will be coming to live (or be undead) at my house... the tension is palpable!

I pretty much am shipping mine too sans frame...that was the plan from the get-go..I figure its more up to the winner what decor they are trying to match and the postage on mine will be MINIMAL...keepin it SIMPLE
