As always, a very well-done ep. Worth the wait. Hope you're feeling better soon. You're going to have to keep this interview thing going! Really enjoying them - first Diana Lai and now Ernie! What a great storyteller. He had me chuckling and smiling as I was driving home from work today. Thanks again. Now, let's not have such a long pause between eps, please! |

Mark, Superb episode! Here's to your quick recovery! Theraflu... ugh. Recommend that you just fortify your usual Mai Tai with fresh orange juice -- the extra Vitamin C will expedite your recovery and ensure, along with the lime juice, that you never deal with scurvy on top of a cold!

I just posted episode 28 of the Village. This one has an interview with Mark & Maggie of Velvet Glass. They talk about the Relight The Night event in Tucson, Tucson's tiki past, the history of the Kon Tiki and their art with Velvet Glass! This one is a fun one---some very inside information about a lost tiki from the Kon Tiki too!! Enjoy! |

Hey Digitiki, Great job with the podcasts! I am finally catching up to them. Really enjoyed jeff chenault's wacky stuff, and the squid interview was fun too. I am from Phoenix (now in Boston) and never realized the rich heritage Tuscon had with tiki although I know the Kon Tiki for sure and have been there. So, great hearing Velvet Glass talk about the inside scoop. Wish I could attend that event down there - looks fab! I have a gig that weekend nonetheless. Anyhow, keep up the great tunes! Mr. Ho |

THanks OnlyATikiLad, Big Tiki & Mr. Ho for the kind words!!! The one thing I forgot to mention about Tucson and Tiki is that big Moai that was just relocated. Mr. Ho, I'm glad you liked the Squid show too. That one was really fun. We were getting tanked as the evening wore on and sometimes you can hear it in our voices. Thank you guys again for the encouragement! Mahalo |

BEST EPISODE OF QUIET VILLAGE ... EVER! All hail Gene Rains! His version of Lotus Land is one of the best tunes of all exotica. I have not heard good versions of some of these tunes since Vegas Vic spun them years ago. Thank you, thank you Digitiki! Hey, they do have live music here at the Kona Air port on the Big Island... Hula dancers too sometimes. It's always awesome. However, I've never heard tune-age as fantastic as Gene Rains at the air port. Thanks Again for digging out the Rains! Tiki Shark |

Digitiki, I had to post and thank you. I have spent the last week listening to every poscast and catching up. I really had never appreciated or had much exposure to exotica and you have parted the bamboo curtain and lead me to the light. Thanks!! I'm ready for the next episode now. :) |

Great episode !! I really liked the alternative versions of theme songs we're already so familiar with. The Bjork version of "You Only Live Twice" is better than Nancy Sinatra's. All of my John Barry favorites were included but I think I would have added "Dawn Raid on Fort Knox". :) Also I think they should re-release ALL the Bond films with a commentary track by both Joe Banks and Digitiki. That was some funny stuff !! Digitiki's Sean Connery impression sounds just like Mr. Howell. :D The only thing I'm in great disagreement with is their dislike for "Diamonds are Forever" (the film not the theme song). They consider it one of the worst 3. It's my second favorite right after "Thunderball". Here's why:
I'm looking forward to Part 2. :) [ Edited by: JOHN-O 2012-04-04 16:09 ] |

Okay, that entire 007 series is BEYOND stellar! Bravo! You guys even inspired me to attempt to make "The Vesper Martini" tonight to enjoy with my Bond film pig out night. When I went to pick up the Lillet, there were 2 kinds, a bland and a rouge. I went with the blanc. Here goes nothing. Thanks again for the awesome tunes, info, etc... Cheers! |

Whew! Glad I chose wisely. Indeed that was a tasty drink, and a killer "2.5" episode Quiet Village series. On a side note, a really strange thing I enjoy about the last decade of Bond films is the production company credits for United Artists at the beginning of some of the films: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCXu0vwQBjk I don't know, for some reason, its really exciting, like its telling the audience the film thats about to start is going to be one heck of an adventure.
