Maybe just draw homer, with a tiki drink in hand, and a moai head instead of a face. BAM, done. Hahaha.

Thanks for the post, Grog.

Hilarious GROG  I showed it to my son who pointed out to me that Bart's tagline in "Eat my shorts", I hadn't got that.

Grog, I'm embarrassed to admit that I completely missed that, too. Bad fan, I am.

I realized that I can fix up the cannibal tile for the Art Swap (stay tuned), but I carved a little bit into the Cannibowl- adding important details like tube socks and more. Here's a close-up- it will be cleaned up as it dries some more. While the black clay was going to be left unglazed on the outside, now thinking about creating some flames crawling up the sides of the bowl- any thoughts?

Tiki Ano, I thought that flames up the sides of the bowl would look good on mine so you should do it too and we'll compare flames for fun.

GROG I agree frame them you are done, they're terrific.

You're or you are-----The Spelling Police.

Thanks ya'll. Glad you enjoyed the quick rough Simpsons drawings. Still not in the swap, though. That's as much work as GROG going to put into those drawings. :)

Started mine last night finally. I broke out my new dremel tool I bought some time ago for the studio for an idea that didn't pan out. I decided to try my hand at carving bamboo, though I really have carved very little of...anything ever. Holding a dremel tool is really hard to get used to, and learning to go with the grain even harder.

First I sketched out my shrunken head on the bamboo

Then I started carving switching off between two different bits. I really needed a third smaller one for details but had to work with what I had.

Then I tried to get as deep as I could without penetrating completely through the bamboo.

The plan was after it was carved properly that I would woodburn the details into it, but I could not find my good woodburner and had to settle for a pretty lousy one I got from a toy hobby kit when I was a kid.

I really should have stopped there, but I was really not confident in how it was looking especially my carving so I decided to add an element I was more familiar with... paint. I think I really screwed it up at this point.

Disappointed with the outcome so far, but maybe it will still work out in the end after I add the other details.

I like it Tiger. But in the end it's YOU that has to be happy with it :)

We have so many cool projects started and even a few almost finished! You may have noticed your fearless leader (me) has been talking the talk but not walking the walk ~ I hadn't started a project yet! But now I have a plan and have cast a skull. Next to do some serious modification to make it into a Ndaokus/Trophy Skull mug
