You getting any work done on that Lono? I want to see an update. That way I can get discouraged and not go outside and work on my tikis. It's in the upper nineties down here. So do a brother a favor and keep me inside. :P

S

blindy - get your butt out side. I'm at work i cant do any pic posts right now.
I have been working hard on the headdress my hands are sore.

JohnnyP - Thanks, looking fwd to seeing your latest carves coming
along.

Tucson - thanks much. Your carves are coming along big time.

surfintiki - thanks yes I'm thinking leaving the wood natural and
going with the tung oil.

Aloha seeks!!!!and Holy Killer Lono's !!!!!!!!!!!!!They look Great ! You have such an incredable flow in your carvings!!!
Excellent stuff my friend,Aloha Mooney

Mooney - thanks bro, all the support keep me going.
That mask of your was simply beautiful work.

Having a good time working out this headdress. So much surface area
in the headdress, time consuming.

B

This piece is outstanding !
The headress is simply perfect: neat smooth and everything... how did you do ? Chainsaw, sand machine, chisels ?

That's top shelf bro', that's top shelf.

Benjamin.

WOW! Really that's all I got.

seeksurf,

I've been watching your stuff for some time now and it has always been some kind of "modern textbook hawaiian" reference for me, thanks! The size, the smoothness, the details and the way you finish them, I am sure the lono won't be an exception, looking forward to see the final photos !

You posted the first progress photo here 2 weeks ago where the wood looked really fresh (wet), did it only take that long to dry naturally for this size of log ?

Greetings from Munich,

Bobo

S

benella - thanks, same old technique chainsaw chisels sand like crazy.

tikifreak - WOW is just fine.

Bobo - thanks glad you like.he is still wet i haven't carved anything
yet that was dry. I put a wet towel over him each night to keep him
wet. I keep a towel over the front hoping he will crack more
in the back?

Damn!! I'm jealous of your skills. Great stuff. :D

B

Hey seeks, that's some mighty fine work! Nice proportions and hard edges.

Hmm...Kook Tiki Carver, huh? I think you're up a few notches higher than that. :)

Mine!

B

Holy Moly Man, HOW do you get such Perfect Lines, such Perfect Balance, such Perfect Perportions on what is this, your 3rd or 4th tiki? I expected the headdress to be good but Picture perfect? No Way. He looks like eyes popped back into their sockets.

Sooper-tight carve Seeks. I believe you when you say its time consuming. Top marks for setting your own standards so high!

This is what I joined TC to see.. :)

Tell us Seeksurf, you're using photoshop to get those nice clean lines, aren't you?

Thanks for the bump up surfin and benz. I have been so busy
Vac, Coast trips and the kids are on summer break.

I was showing off 3 tiki's at Lapush on the Res Man the locals
went crazy over them. The Indians really have alot of respect for
the carving arts. I was welcomed with open arms. Trible dance, 3 fishing trips
alittle Salmon and some halibut. Great time.

Lono is almost done!

B

The Lono is finished ? :) :) :)
Happy to learn everything was cool at the lapush, do you have some pix ?
