It's really great we have a "keeper of the old flame" artist like you
taking the artform to to a new generation, but we old gen really dig it to!

Cheers ATP! Thanks for saying that!

Dont let the signature fool you. Its not done yet.
I always sign my work before I am finished. Trick my brain
into thinking that it mostly is, so I dont screw up or overwork it.
Famous last words.

Call it a superstition or a stupidstition. :D

Mahalo!

Jason, could you sign my kids, they're not finished yet. :)
LOVE the look in her eyes and her expression.
Looking fantastic, man!

Bravo once again!

-Andy

Wow - fantastic work!

Mucho Mahalo Danno! What is up! Always great hearing from you!

Next progress photo....didnt get a chance to do much last couple of days.
Will be done soon hopefully.

I like the mental trick of signing it before its actually done. I always for get to sign stuff.

Aloha,

Now you can trick your brain too Dawn! :)
Crunch time for Oasis means framing them before they are
done too. Will be back to make a final pass on all of them
once they are framed up.

Aloha,

Spent the last couple of weeks since Oasis flying back and forth
visiting my ailing mom :(. Was nice to get our minds off of things for awhile
and hang at the Rincon Room party and the Tonga Hut over labor day
weekend...we needed that. Thanks Guys!

Did a little sketch recently...

Time to fly out again.

Is that going to become a velvet ? Having a tiki AND a wahine in there will surely draw lots of buyers....the newest one looks great too !

Hope your mom gets well soon.

Jason -

It was cool hanging' out and talking shop for a little while at bongofury's Rincon Room - Thanks!

If this is the concept for one of your new projects we talked about - the famous Luau tiki w/wahine - then brother, I think you're into a good thing here.

Your sketches are amazing. Your finished paintings are amazing. Your contributions to modern Poly-Pop are required study for aspiring artists like myself.

A tallyman thumbs-up! G

PS: Prayors and positive energy for mom...

J.S., your art is captivating.

Please keep this thread going. Thank you so much for sharing.

I hope your mom is doing well.

I love the new sketch, do you have and idea for a background?

Many Mahalos for the well wishes everyone. My Mother is out of the hospital
and on the road to recovery. Fingers crossed! It has been a roller coaster
for the last few months to say the least.

This was posted under Sven,s Book of Tiki 10 years Show at M Modern.
Was a great show with many stellar pieces to enjoy. Great turnout too!
Thanks again Sven, Naomi, and M Modern!

Aloha!

Jason, hope life is on the upswing for you and your mom. Looking forward to more great art :D

Wow, I have felt like doing that before!

Jason I would love to see you branch out to different topics in velvet paintings so cant wait to see this finished piece.

The rough sketch looks great!

Cool as hell...'o ween !

KILLER!

T

This is gonna be awesome!

Rawr!

It's gonna be nice to see you take on a few things in this piece!
the wolf hair, the head, the lighting in the bar,,,,
trembling with anticipation!
:)

I can't wait to see your approach to this, Jason. It's a tough subject for black velvet, it seems to me.

Make it sing, brotha'!!

Thanks everyone for the comments on my werewolf sketch.

Gracias Boris Zevon!

Thanks for stopping by MDM!

Cheers G! Great seeing you recently.

Great idea tikiskip! Since I loosely based it on the Tonga Hut,
and it was for the halloween show there,
I decided to make the severed head look like the owner Jeremy.
Next time I will use your idea for sure. Thanks!

Thanks Kelly and Cass. Great drinks last night Kelly!
Cass, we missed seeing your creations there.

Yo Kenny! Hope I channeled some of your magic.

Mahalo Robb! I didn,t get to work on it as much as I would
have liked, but had fun with it nonetheless.

Here is the finished piece...

AWOOOOOOOOOOOO...WEREWOLF of NoHo
