Do you think I could sell them at gallery shows, etc?

I've been told here and a couple other places that this is a nifty T-shirt design...

Freeakout, sorry for pic. quality....

Been doing many off trail hikes...

...and snuck up on newborn elk, 2 of them and mom... sneeeeaky sneaky tiki.....

Incredible edible fungi.... I left hundreds of dollars unpicked....but i know how/where to find em, morels, corals, calf brains and..... others.

I'd buy the t-shirt if it's a black one and the graphic isn't tiny like you normally get, but that's me. I really like that design, wife had soft spot for baby elks. Thanks for having stuff besides art, I like seeing the "what I've been up to pics," studio pics, etc.

How much for the shrooms?

looks like you've been having a blast
and pushing and prodding your work.

Cool and freaky. Way outside the box. It must have been amazing to come across the baby elk. I'd be worried about mom though. I've come across baby moose before and mom is never far and always angry. I was on a harcore morel quest a couple of years ago and found not one. Nice score. I found this in my backyard though.

Screen printing collaboration with friends, acrylic, screen-print on plywood.

Oil and acrylic painting on plywood.

Acrylic, collage on canvas. 3' by 3'. I must say oil is still way easier for me than acrylic, but as this canv-ass illustrates, I keep trying...

Also visible in the pix are the bamboo floors we laid in about 1000 sqr ft of house. They look good with MCM, they are enviro-friendly, and lastly they are kinda tiki.

I have been reading Henry Miller "Tropic of Capricorn" and "Tropic of Cancer", oiling my shake roof, landscaping, and house fixer' up jobs.

I am ready to slang sum paint, uh yuh!

Thankies Lil Lost Ken!

The words under the boot are lyrics to a song written by a friend of mine.
This is part of the collaborative...
I'll try to get the lyrics up here soon.

Very cool, brain squeezin' stuff going on in here.

Thank u TikiMango!

Pleased to meet you!

Getting some furniture back in this half of the house.

Question, Flat or Gloss on this oil painting? I'm getting ready to spray a few of these with Damar varnish.

Aloha

A FLAT MATTE GLOSS VARNISH WOULD BE PERFECT!

actually a satin finish or matte would be good
especially it it has some texture
a gloss would be hard to light and create small shadows on the surface
that would interrupt the read of the piece!
good luck sneakers!

LLT,

Thanks to you Sir, perhaps I shall proceed with the satin finish since I was having trouble deciding on matte or gloss.

I have been working on more paintings and listening to The Foals "Antidote" while breathing fumes...

New painting:
My friend Dave has recently started his own Screen print business after years of working for "da man".
He inspired me to paint this Miro-Klee-mid-century inspired portrait of him.
The piece is 2' by 2' on masonite entitled "Dave Reaches" and shows him and the Universe reaching toward each other to represent Dave aspiring and achieving.....

BAM

more Miro than Klee, but also a little bit of Arp goin on there!
Beautiful,Simple,Direct, with a touch of the mystic playfulness
that creeps into your pieces! bravos fo shizzle! :)

Thank you Lil'KenTiki,

I am checking out this ARP! You are a walking art encyclopedia my friend!
I was digging on some Schnabel earlier today.

Peace, WERD!

New painting:

6 TIKIS:

Very cool!
nice colors and mix of figures and type!
What is your opinion on painting on unprimed wood w/ acrylics?
I find it soaks up into the wood so you gotta work fast on the undercoats....
Jean ARP!

LLT,

The unprimed wood is a HUGE pain!!!! I gloss over it with matte medium and this acts as a seal to keep the "soak up" effect from happening.

Thx for the comp. I are am werkin' a bit more on this one.

Are you painting on any special sign board or your run-of-the-mill plywood? I'm diggin' the Sesame 6 Tikis.

Mango,

The last couple of paintings are on appox. 3/4" thick plywood 2' by 2' sqr's frome Home Despot. I seal them with matte medium before applying paint to save on paint soak up/repainting.

I hope that answers your question. No they are not sign quality or anything.

Thank you for commenting and for the kind werds!
