Kahaka, Thanks. Yours is on it's way. So I have not carved a Tiki in a while (5 Years or so) and I was looking through some pics I had, and I found this guy. Don't remember where I got the pic, but thought I would give it a go..
Made of an Ash baseball bat blank I found in the move, that I forgot I had. Octane tipped us off to those back when he was around these parts. He is 10" tall. |

Mutiny on the Bounty! Bounty Quarterboard 24" x 6" Not really Tiki, but I think Nautical stuff goes well with Tiki. [ Edited by: tikimecula 2010-06-21 18:27 ] |

Thanks Benz, Chimp & Watango. Lake, this winter is not as bad as last year. we have only had maybe 15" of snow this winter. Well the Ash marq had to be sacrificed to the fire, it was full of bugs? along with the rest of the log pile I had? Got some other carves coming up soon, I hope. We might be moving again so not sure when I'll get a start on them. I'm kinda in limbo for the time being. |

Bugs in the Ash? Red Headed Ash Borers? We've got Emerald Ash Borers here, but I've yet to come across them. Pine and Basswood hold a lot of larva. Cedar repels insects. Lucky you this Winter... we're over 54 inches this season... and counting. :( Wish the miles were not so far, I've got a ton of seasoned wood here that needs carving... Ash and Birch. |
