I actually preferred Spy Shows to Cartoons as a kid.

The secret agent is Koichi Hoshi.

A duck, horse, and rabbit could only be the Amazing Three. Captain Bokko (rabbit), Nokko (horse), and Pukko (duck).

In the American version of the series (released in syndication through Erika Productions in 1967), Bokko's name was changed to Bonnie. Nokko became Ronnie, Pukko became Zero, Shinichi was renamed Kenny Carter, and Koichi was given the name Randy.

The Secret Agent's name, in the translated cartoon from Japan, was Randy Carter. He was the "James Bondian" brother of a young boy who befriended the Amazing 3 and often got them out of scrapes. The Amazing 3 themselves were also spies of a sort, sent from an alien world to assess the Earth, taking on an undercover animal form.

I have never met another person who remembers this show. I often used to think it was a childhood dream of mine.

This show was probably not shown on Sheriff John or Hobo Kelly which I associate with the local Los Angeles cartoon scene of the 1960's. I think I watched the Japanese Cartoons (Kimba, Gigantor, & Speed Racer) on channel 28 which made for bad reception and a snowy picture. The Amazing Three was probably beyond the reach of my tv's rabbit ears.

Hobo Kelly and Sheriff John ?? I remember eating baloney sandwiches on TV trays watching those shows, my mother warning me not to spill my milk in the den.

The Amazing 3 actually ran on local TV (as did other translated Japanese cartoons in the 1960's like Gigantor, Marine Boy, 8th Man, and Prince Planet). I know because we didn't have a channel 28 on our TV until the 1970's.

Thanks for posting that opening clip Rum Dog, the exact plots of the shows escape my memory, but I DO remember that song. :) Maybe other people's cool parents were actually taking them to see "Thunderball" and "You Only Live Twice" at the movies. I had to get by with cartoons.

remember "Prince Planet" & the rest of the Japanese cartoons from the 60s

I also preferred Gerry Anderson's shows (Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds & Captain Scarlet)

I remember that UHF channel. It was not channel 28, which was alway PBS, but fifty-something. They showed Adams Family reruns and Japanese cartoons back in the Sixties. Every commercial on that channel was for some sort of fruit stripe gum.

Jeez, I cannot remember where I last left my car keys but I can remember obscure Los Angeles UHF channels from the Sixties. Should I be ashamed of myself?

He was in an episode of "77 Sunset Strip" which I saw a few weeks ago
Star Efrem Zimbalist Jr. is an ex agent for the CIA in the show, Max Baer was also in
episodes of "Follow the Sun","Hawaiian Eye" & "Surfside 6" which gives him some Tiki Cred.

Max Baer Jr. has not one but three indirect links and connections to the world of tiki. Later in life in a futile attempt to shed the Jethro image he sported an awesome mustache that made everyone in the 1970’s porn business envious. This no doubt was the impetuous for the many mustache competitions that have taken place at various tiki events such as last year’s Tiki Oasis and the Rumpus Room annual competition.

A second connection, Tom Selleck, who was an admitted huge fan of the Beverly Hillbillies and Jethro in particular, sported a similar mustache on Magnum P.I. which brings in several tiki connections. Selleck grew his famed mustache after seeing Baer Jr. on an episode of the Dinah Shore show in 1978 where Baer discussed how the Jethro character had typecast him and ruined his acting career. Selleck was impressed how Dinah was infatuated and giddy with Baer’s mustache. (Side bit of trivia is that Selleck nicknamed his mustache “Bodine” to pay homage to Baer’s Jethro character.)

Third link and as well as being a connection to this year’s Tiki Oasis theme. Baer was under consideration to play James Bond in “Diamonds are Forever”. This was just a ploy used by Cubby Broccoli to get Connery back in the role. Connery balked at first, but when rumors started that Baer got the role and the 007’s name was being changed to “Bond, Jethro Bond” Connery reluctantly agreed to reprise the role.

It aired on March 3rd, 1965 which was when the spy craze was peaking right after "Goldfinger".

In this episode, Jethro decides to give up his dream of being a brain surgeon to become a "double naught spy" just like James Bond. He even turns the Clampett truck into a "double naught spy car"...

Which is also the name of a local instrumental Surf-inspired band !! :)

The first season of the animated Spiderman show had original music by Ray Ellis. Original sound track recordings do not exist. A rock band named the Amazing Spider Band recorded an album with covers for those tunes.
The second and third seasons used cheaper production library music, mostly from KPM/APM.

Paul Johnson of the Belairs was asked about Mr. Moto and where that name came from.
he said it was a 3 part correct answer.
