Trader Woody : your photo-painting is from Richie Fahey, a great contemporary artist that paints over his photos with a 40's style. There were a great article on him on juxtapoz magazine (photo issue) |

I just won this auction on ebay for a print of the same Richie Fahey photo that you all were commenting on. This was it: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3714265894&category=20143 I also won auctions for 2 other tiki related Fahey prints that I think are very cool: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3714730964&category=20143 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3714730963&category=20143 I had been looking obsessively for prints of his art since seeing the Juxtapoz issue. I finally found this place selling prints of several of his pieces on ebay. You can best see them all by doing a search on Richie Fahey in both the titles and the descriptions since they don't include his name in the titles. I am sure that they will keep relisting the same prints as they are printed to order. You can order through their website, too, but the normal price is $40. The $24.88 initial bid price seems like a great deal. If anyone is curious, I'll post my thoughts of their quality when I receive the prints. I should also mention that the photo used for the Juxtapoz cover is one of the prints they are offering. |

Randy Exotica, I realise that your name means something quite different over there in the States, but from here in the UK, it seems that you are perfectly placed to comment on this topic. Trader Woody |

-Randy Exotica I would love to read your thoughts on the posters when you receive them. I have also been a fan of his art ever since I saw it in Juxtapoze and am considering buying the shot of the girl exiting the pool. -g- |

Randy Exotica, Following your lead, I purchased a poster for myself. I bought the one of the Hula dancer in front of the burning tiki. Thanks for the tip on where to find these! I'm sure I'll be picking up more. Mahalo, [ Edited by: MachTiki on 2004-04-15 12:55 ] |
