Ha - Cool! We have a bunch of those picks from Hawaii, too.

H

Love this display.

Bamm- what do u play?
Hilt- thanks

Funny after looking at the photo again
I can’t help but think

Wow so much has gone on since I last checked. Love the wall display. You have a man cave in the garage like Dan.
Are you making a walking stick with that long piece? The face is great.
The guitar pick holder is so cool? That's a terrific way to display them. I never knew these picks existed.
I'm going to look for some when we next go to Oahu.

Wendy

PS I just showed Dan all your photos and he also did a WOW

bamalamalu Dan just found a CD of piano with a theremin music. He said it is creepy fun. Dan has music going non-stop. Wendy

PS hang10tiki Dan would approve of your music choices

Great piece of wood

Spalted Maple

Much like Ambrosia Maple and other forms of figured maple,
Spalted Maple is technically not a specific species of Maple,
but rather a general description of any type of Maple that has been
allowed to begin initial stages of decay, and then subsequently
dried (preventing further decay).
The partial decay, called spalting, gives the wood dark contrasting
lines and streaks where fungus has begun to attack the wood.

Jon, this is coming along nicely, great looking piece of wood.

Thanks Hilt
Glad u like him
Cheers

Great color in the wood.

Wow, I love these lines and how they really accent the piece you are carving. Very cool. Wendy

Mauka- thanks, fun piece
Wendy- thanks, the dark lines are Kool

Eye time

That's looking mighty fine! Is that all carved with woodworking chisels or do you use routers? My brother gave me a set of Solingers a number of years ago, but I boxed them up to make room for a project and now can't remember where I squirreled them away!

Prikli Pear- here’s what I’ve used so far

Dremel for top 2 pics

And these

PS- your “squirreled” comment made me laugh out loud
:)

Cheers
