Jon, that War God is shapping up well, keeping my fingers crossed that the rootball trunk dries good.

Nice clean log and cool start to the carve! Good Work!

P

nice...but if it's gonna be a Ku, it needs a dual-braided headdress!

MDM- fun stuff, root ball is still wet
Captn- thanx
5150- I'm tryin to make it look like Wendys War God (next pic)

workin on the mouth this am, ready for some teeth

T

lookin good so far

Wow what a huge change. I couldn't see where you would fit in the teeth and now it is perfect. What are the demensions? Is it the size of the bank? Good job, Wendy

BIG T-thanx
WENDY- It's 20 inches tall and 12 inches across

lil more today...

Very nice. I'll send the photos on to Joniece. She gets a kick out of having her design be so desirable. I like it a lot you are doing a wonderful carving. Wendy

Looks good Jon, nice and smooth

Wendy and MDM- glad u like, this one is fun. Palm is so easy to carve into compared to so many other hard woods here in Vegas...

Got a late start today, so once the sun got the heck out of the way, I did a lil more

M

Coming along nicely my friend. Digging the contrast between the bark and the wood.

Mahalo

McTiki

It's looking good. We melt in the garage this time of year. I'm glad to hear you are avoiding the sun. This is national awareness month for Melanoma. Wendy

McTiki- Yep the color contrast is cool but I have to take all the bark (light color) off, it's all cracked n falling off anyway.

Wendy- Today it was 112 degrees out in the shade, had to hit myself a few times with the hose as soak my hat a couple times, so I was only out for an hour. But worked on the teeth and eye lid. Next will be the eyebrows.

Worst sound ever, slurp of an empty tiki mug through my straw!!!

Speedy goodness! You gonna add bling?

Nice cuts!

Mahalo!

McTiki

I really need to start reading the carving posts more. You have some great stuff here. I try not to handle large sharp objects more than I need to. I have a bad habit of hurting myself with them on accident. HAHA

Keep up the great work. Love that last piece.

  • Dale

Clean and simple!! Nice carve!

WENDY, ZERO, CY, McTIKI, LITTLE G, CAPT JACK-

BEEN A WHILE, THOUGHT I WOULD START ON ONE OF THE STUMPS IN OUR COURTYARD

HERE WE GO...

Jon you seem to have more than your share of dead stumps in your yard - what's up with that?

MDM, JUST LUCKY I GUESS, OR AM I???

THIS ONE IS A BIT SKINNY
SO HOW ABOUT A BUNCH OF BOB MUGS STACKED UP??!!??

I FORGOT HOW "STRINGY" THIS UNKNOWN WOOD IS...

Great idea. What did you use to skin it?

Tower of Bobel? ;]

M

This is going to be epic!

Do carve on sir!

Mahalo

Looks like a fun project. Would be interesting to see how it ends up.

Wade- It is still a bit wet, so it was easy to peel the bark off
Atomic / McTiki / Hiltiki- thanks for lookin, should be fun :)

4 Bobs started, 5 to go...

P

If there's one thing I love....it would be Tiki Bob. Cool concept! Can't wait to see it finished!

Totem Bob! Very cool Jon.
