Does the Gesso seal the wood before painting?

Mike- It covers the wood and basically seals it so when painting, I am painting, gesso and not Wood, that way the paint doesn’t absorb as much into the wood and bleed where you don’t want to go

Cut em to 4 ft lengths

Lil cleaning up to do but overall ok, blue (union) next

Wow I've not been on for a while and what a whole lot of wonderful things to view. Let's see if I can remember some of it to comment.

Dan's favorite dish at Olive Garden, rigatoni and meatballs, check. I love those skulls in the window. What is the name of the new pirate place and is it in Las Vegas? The little light bulb at the top of the building infiltrated by the octopus is darling. Those suckers are very impressive. We just bought Japanese beer for a Japanese Thanksgiving at friends home. We had no idea how many hundreds of beers there are. We had to get help to find them. At the dinner people chose to drink wine and water for the most part, our hosts will be set for beer for a long time. They didn't know we would bring 48 bottles for 17 people. We have no idea how many would be consumed with a meal! I LOVE the beard and you and Sew Tiki look terrific. I like the hanging flag, it's really cool.

Good on the beer. The flag is soooooo cool. Pretty purple on the octopus, I bet it will change as you proceed.

What a fun bunch of projects.

W- glad u like the flag. Had some issues with my airbrush, probably user error. Now to add some color so it’s not solid purple.

Not sure if I like the way the octopus came out or not let me know if you like this look, I was thinking more of a solid color with some lighter colors, mixed in, I must’ve put 10 coats of paint on this thing, and then the airbrush started acting up. Not sure if this works or not. It’s octopus skin so I guess it could, but let me know what you think!

Keep it and fix all overspray, or start over ???

Well, My opinion is worth what you pay for it but thanks for asking. I like the spotty variegated completion of the puss. I don't stand on formalities, however I'm not sure if I've ever seen a purple octopus. They do change colors to match their surroundings sooooo I'm think'n green, gray ,brownish. Hope it helps.
