Where do you get those eyeballs? You are a dental implant technician! I like scary faces.

Eyes on Amazon

But they are only 1/2 shape not round

Iโ€™ve seen nice round ones on Etsy but havenโ€™t purchased any yet. Soon.

Next on the monster:

Cut base to shape, attach the teeth, then start the paint ๐ŸŽจ

You are building a village. It would sure be fun to see all your creations together in a group setting.

I sure like the texture on that guys body. No horses come with these drinks?

Thanks

Nope. Only Blantons. This bar didnโ€™t have any. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Hang10, lots to go through on this post! Love your uninhibited carving style and appreciation for the finer things in life. We come through Vegas a few times a year, will have to look you up.

Thanks Any time Bruddah

Iโ€™ll admit, I feel funny

Goonies fans. Stay tuned

When I showed Dan his comment was: Wow that's really good!" Creepy good. How did you remove your head? I hope you heal well.

We have been to the Goonies house in Astoria, OR. The poor owners having their home stared at all day every day. We were on a bus tour of movie homes in Astoria. Truely the most boring tour of our lives.

7/8/2025 A special day. I wonder how you celebrated. Bring on the fun.

on the beach

Thanks Wendy.

The boring comment was funny

One week of fun on the Oregon coast

What larger city is close to Depot Bay? We have been all over the Oregon coast and I don't recognize this area. Loved seeing how often you had clam chowder and my favorite clam strips. That crab bowl was sure underpriced. Did you bring any tiki treasure home with you? These are all great photos. How many years did you celebrate? Congratulations on marrying well and enjoying life.

Thatโ€™s our normal diet on the Oregon coast, clam chowder, and beer

Depot Bay is north of Newport, but south of Lincoln cityIMG_9725

Our tour was Newport to Astoria, fun seven day journey. IMG_9726

26 yrs

Yes the crab carving was awesome, too big to bring back. Didnโ€™t bring any thing home this time.

We did this trip in May. We drove Elk Grove to see family in Medford, Eugene and Astoria. Then down the coast ending in Bandon. Then back to I-5 and home. 7 days. Loved it. Glad you went too.

If you really love beer, then Elk Grove is your next stop. There are craft beer places all over this small town. Whylee Raven would be able to tell you the best stops. You could stay in our guest room or a hotel, your choice. We would have fun!

Sounds fun

But

That's a beautiful historic mug! That critter is looking very smooth and cute. What a wonderful way to set up your carving tools.

Living a fun life creating is the way to go.

Hi W

Funny, I saw the mug out of the corner of my eye, heart rate went up, ran over, big smile, saw the tag and got mad ๐Ÿ˜ก

lol

20 years ago we paid $800 for a red War God and then turned around and bought a second one for $800. We have seen them sell for $1,200. We were sad that it only went up $75 in such a long period of time. So don't be mad this is the going rate!

I love your critter. He's sweet. Nice and smooth.

[ Edited by danlovestikis on 2025-07-15 20:10:44 ]

Itโ€™s always fun to see rare mugs. Heโ€™s smooth now but I will be adding texture/fur at the end.

I bet his fur will look good too.

Hope so

Cheers

Wow he does look better without the dark highlighting, good call. He's adorable. The flower carving is really cool. I guess I'm a fan of your art! Well, don't have to guess at all.

Working on my relief partial octopus carving

You are the young guy in the classroom. It will be fun to see if they have tools, you need or new techniques for carving. I would enjoy this.

Cute tree. I hope your octopus looks as intelligent as they say they are.

lol

Got a lil bday gift from a fellow carver today:

The โ€œskinโ€ texture

IMG_0132

[ Edited by hang10tiki on 2025-07-22 10:37:12 ]

Looking good. Is the skin texture done by hitting the wood?

Itโ€™s done with a dull round dremel bit. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Iโ€™ll gloss the eye tomorrow when all dry

[ Edited by hang10tiki on 2025-07-22 18:39:11 ]

I would like to see the background in black too so that the octopus is more prominent. Just an opinion. Gloss on the eyeball is good.
