yes, it is.

looks pretty scary! Better stick with your Spider Man hammer.

I've gone back and forth with the craft table idea. But, I think I'll commit. It won't be anything elaborate. Actually, I've had an expert helping me with some ideas. Mahalo, WooHoo! It might be fun for the kids and give the parents time to chill. I use to have a coloring area in the store. Kids loved it and it gave the parents a chance to look around with some peace and quiet. :)

Looking forward to Sunday. Everything is coming together nicely!

I hate to bring up the de rigueur, but will there be facilities?

Yes, we have a single restroom. We're hoping other shop owners in attendance will open theirs if ours gets crowded. I can't testify as to what their restrooms look like.....mostly automotive businesses. When we've had large gatherings in the past, the line wasn't a problem....just go easy on da paper... 1930's plumbing.

So I have read through the entire thread and I can't wait to be at the Nooner.

From what I have read, this is the list of what I need to bring.

Chairs,
Money,
A small boy wearing the clothing of European royalty,
A height challenged individual,
A festive attitude,
and a baby's arm holding an apple.

Is there anything else?

That about covers it. :P

Good Lord don't forget that chair!

You forgot Trader Vics' Wooden Leg!!!

( must find one for DtB's. :)

As long as people aren't waving around rum bottles, we should be fine. Please do not leave the property with a drink in your hand. Stay on the private property.

If you see the person above....RUN!

I personally hope you all have a miserable time and between the midget strippers and goat dancing and the wearin of the SARS masks and LLT with his crazy goggles you all are cursing the time you spend at this event. In fact I hope it does turn into one big fight with not enough chairs and no one wearing name tags!

Of course I am only saying that because I wont be able to come and meet everyone and buy a bunch of art from some of my favorite people on here and of course enjoy the music ....

bitter? just a bit

All of you take tons and tons and tons of pics and if there IS goat dancing by damn it there had better be someone with a video camera!!

For anyone who (I can't believe it!) has never heard of some of these bands that will be here, or who is new to this forum, here is a run down on the bands:

The Smoking Menehunes: Absolutely standard Hapa Haole Hawaiian music from the 20's, 30's 40's and 50's. Soft, Gentle, no drummer. led by a Native Hawaiian singer/ukelele player, Pat Enos. Also featuring Tiki Bong on steel guitar. This is one of the few people "banned for life" from this forum. He is Tiki Central's "bad boy" and will also be the emcee of the whole event. He happens to totally smoke on steel guitar. This is the classic music of Hawaii. Think Don Ho and Sam Kapua singing to Bobby and Cindy Brady and you get the idea!

The Tikiyaki Orchestra: A large group playing mostly original exotica. These guys are f-ing incredible. Very tight, polished. Led by Jim Bacchi, a total genius. This band features vibraphones, exotic drumming courtesy of a percussionist and tiki central's famous artist, Squid on drums. Also featuring Gary from the Blue Hawaiians (and spongebob) on steel guitar. If you like Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman, you are going to love these guys!

Exotiki: Again, a large group. Featuring Kevin from Big Sandy and the fly-rite boys on bass. This band melds exotica, western swing, Hawaiian and amazingly, Gypsy hot jazz, and is going to totally and completely blow you away.

The Hula Girls: Despite the name, this is 4 ugly dudes who play rockabilly with surf + Hawaiian themes and elements. Mostly original songs. Think Elvis in Hawaii. Led by Spike (Lucky Designs) who is in Mexico surfing Cabo right now, and will come back and "get" us all with the swine flu.
