Ben,

Congrats on Jack's 13th. It looked like you were really burning an old bar in that bar-mitzvah fire.

Happy Easter!

Matt

Seeing the Molokai Bar all spruced up in anticipation of this years Hukilau. It looks like the gave the entire bar a bath, all of the cobwebs are gone, some of the lights actually cast a light now that 30 something years of dust have been removed.

Very, very nice.

Happy Easter!

Finally finding and buying the movie Kenny and Company a few weeks ago and then reading sweetpea's post.
Aahhh, memories.

Not even forty yet, and I'm already longing for the innocent days of the seventies!

My wife is coming home today after a two week work trip she took in Canada. Also, I was finally able to fly a Robinson R22 helicopter cross-country (John Wayne airport to Riverside airport). I haven't piloted a helicopter in months due to my knee surgery. And finally, April 3rd my wife and I will celebrate 15 years of marriage.

What made me very happy today were the people who were sweet enough to either call, email, text, comment, post, and even shout:

me a Happy Birthday!

Thank you so much guys for showing me the Ohana love! :D

It's just an awesome reminder that there is still sweetness in the world!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAVENNE!!!

3 seperate wildlife encounters made me REAL happy today.

Teko, are you still in Texas? Your profile doesn't say Hawaii?
Watching my 4 & 5 year-old play soccer made me happy.

hosting a midcentry modern dinner ~ with awesome guests like
woofmutt, sweetpea, the Tiki Rivieras, TikiJoesPop, Sophista-Tiki

makes me super dooper happy.

Reasons to be cheerful...

  1. My assistant left for a promotion - in the same company, so we can still meet up.
  2. She gave me a book called '500 Cocktail Recipes' that I don't have, and a bottle of Barbancourt - quite hard to find in England!

Seeing these at the foot of Market Street on my lunch hour. Unfortunately, I did not have my new camera (which made me happy yesterday) with me, so I borrowed this pic from somebody's flickr page.

Then moments later, I saw a naked man on the sidewalk talking to reporters (and yes, I mean naked, except for the hat on his head and the shoes on his feet). I'm still not sure if he was part of the Ron Paul rally/protest at the Federal Reserve building, or the Saint Stupid Parade that the Doggie Diner heads were leading.

Ah! San Francisco! :D

You gotta remember this is San Francisco! The only day of the year that these people are any weirder than today is Halloween! And didn't you see the part in the first paragraph about not having my camera with me?

My new shell necklace that my buddy Skipper made from shells and seeds he found while beach-combing. It was made with Job's Tears, Puka shells, some orange shells I don't know the name of and a polished Opihi shell hangs as the centerpiece. I am stoked I been need a good local kine neck thingy.
