Damn, Tarzan! That thing's huge! Impressive. Good job.

JT is back and bigger than ever!

S

holly crap! Nice, look at the sucker.

Yah you think it's big. I was trying to get a dead 40 ft. palm tree but the guy who owned it wanted 1,000 clams to haul it from Merced to Turlock. Dealbreaker. Anyone know of a mountain I can carve? Damn we should carve the moon. Look thru a telescope and see Ku looking back.

T

Hey JT your from turlock im from stockton!!!
we should get together sometime and collaborate on a piece
Or hell if you need help hauling something hit me up on tc!
PS GO BIG OR GO HOME!!!HAHAHA

Aloha tikigodz, sent you a meassage on yer yahoo.

Wondering if I should paint outside turtle with royal blue, black, white or? Not sure yet. Your suggestions please. I'll probably seal it with epoxy.

T

Stain it dark let the wood grain show thru.

dude.

the Holt monster is gnarley!!!!

just got wind over the weekend.

AWESOME!!!

B

Absolutely COOL Stuff Digger, probably no need to color or stain as the wood grain will come avive with the Poly. Try it out on the bottom first to get it right!

T

That is why big ben is KING!!

congatiki, Grog and Ben..........Mahalo.
ARRRRRRRR! Redwood

Man it's a good thing I pulled my pants up.

K

jt love the skull now whats new?

Here's what's new. Thanks for asking Ken. First, Mr. PotatoHead. My grandson (2 years old) and I collaborated on this one. 2nd, a rootball that was nearly stolen from Minnie's. Third, a horsehead unfinished. Mahalo podnah!

The horse is really cool Vic! Looking great!

Mr. Potato Head is great also, not to mention the rootball!

As much as I enjoy tiki work, branching out into other subjects in wood is a nice change of pace. I've found that it actually improves my tiki work in the long run, as I learn other woodcarving techniques on different subjects.

I saw you mention doing Southwest/Cowboy carving. I think that would be a fun subject that would sell by you. Here in the Midwest, its all bears and eagles, subjects that don't hold my attention at all.

Spot on Dave. Animals are much more difficult to carve. I'm trying not to limit myself. Thanks!

And it looks damned good.

L

Grog speak right!

A damned good tiki!

Happy to see something here, long as this thread was not powered ...

J.

It's not the French explorers so much, it's the British that give me indigestion. What with all that Pip and Squeek.

uhhm, that would be "Bubble and Squeak". Chewin' on da Brits. Original design by Jungle Trader.

and thanks OnlyaTikiLad, Grog and Laojia. I've been gone, practicing non-existence.

I love that last one. That's cool!!!

B

Hey Digger, I,m Loving the CLEAN look you are getting on your tikis, Excellent detail.

Yes, those designs are original!...and cool!

Awesome carves, JT you are the master of the big suckas! That last one totally looks like he's got a few explorers/missionaries boiling up for dinner. Love the expression and the root ball is fantastic!

By the way...in the first pic, what's that crazy monster chain-saw looking tool? it looks like it can really tear some wood apart!
