Amazing
Will see it before the end of the year
:)

H

Beautiful carvings love them all.

Awesome carve Will, well done to everyone involved. One day i hope to pass out in the Mai=Kai gardens

WC

Now that King Kai & the 3 stooges are done.
I'm focused on the last project on my plate to freshen up the Mai-Kai for Hukilau.

Remember the 2 ash trays that were stolen
from the front door about 7 years ago?
I want to revisit that but this time I
put a GPS in them so we can catch the bastard.

I hope to finish up the painting today & install them tomorrow.
Also I got this big ol PNG shield going on.

I think the shields are upside down??

Ash tray Tikis installed just in time for The Hukilau hordes (photos by Will) ...

Great work again!

Here's an image of just a few of the tikis WillCarve had at the Hukilau.

Awesome
They all look great

H

Would be nice to be able to see the detail on these tikis.

Outstanding work, Will -- and also very inspiring.

Thank you all for posting & responding.
My carve class went well. Almost 40 people.
Here's a frond pendant I started when I was
practicing my minimalistic Ku face for it.

Kool
And great color

So I still have the other big log &
I want to carve a Tahitian style guy in it.
I've done these be for but I want to
practice this guy a few times so I don't
screw that big log up.
I have a couple of Cypress logs that will work.

You've had enough practice Will, screw it and start the big one.

What Cy said, but send me that practice piece when done so you have enough room to work
:) :) :)

This frond is PNG inspired.

Ditto what Cy said about the big log, it will be incredible amazing like the other big guy.

WC

I made a Maori frond pendant a few weeks ago.
It didn't make it to the swap.
Here's an other one.

WC

I really like doing these frond pendants.
They go quick. Don't take as long as 10 ft logs.

Excellent as always Will!

WC

Here's practice guy #2.
He's 40 in tall. The last one was 30.
The log is 13 in wide & the first guy was
short & fat.
This is a study in proportion for a 10 fter.

H

Will, here's your carving inside my tiki hut.

Does this wood make his butt look big?

No it is big.

N

Amazing Work. Thank you for sharing your passion craft skills, it is very inspiring,

I could not help pinching the red ones' bum your honor, temporary insanity.

Life sentence
:)

WC

Looking thru the Tiki table lamp thread
I saw a coconut lamp someone just picked up &
thought it was the coolest thing.
I wondered if I could make one.
So I did.

Stud...

WC

A new frond.
It's a good start.

When I go down to the warehouse to swap out the molds
& pick up a new one I don't know what's in it until I cast it.
Even if I open it & look.
Not much room & it's dark & I'm looking at it inside out.
After I cast it I go down to see if I can find
the original wood carving & there are still many
of then there if you know where to look.
Then I look to find original castings if there are any still left.
I was sure this last Tang guy I did was the one in the inside garden. It is not.
I couldn't find the original carving but
I found the last of the castings.
Check this out. It was made about 45 years ago &
this is all that's left.

Here's the new freah one I just installed.

Aren't you gonna paint eyes and teeth on them??

Killer
You mush have hundreds of pendants
:)

WC

Here's some stuff on my table lately so to speak.
My bud got a vendor booth at Ohana &
I had so much fun making the last one
I'm making a bunch of the Coco nut lamps to sell there.
They won't cost much, we'll see who likes them.
And another frond pendant.
And my Hang 10 carving.
Thank you Jon.

Glad he made it

Love all da goods in the pic

cheers

B

Nice carvings WILL but Whats UP with all the Small Carvings? :)

Thank you Ben.
Yes I'm finally getting better at this.

So I made a bunch of these.
I think I've got it out of my system.
I hope some body thinks these are as
cool as I do.
How much more Florida can you get?
$30.00/40 with a shade.

Tom is working on palm leave weaving.
He looked at the lamp shade & said
"I could make that."
We're dialing it in.
We'll see if we have it by Ohana.

H

Love the idea of that shade, the whole thing looks great.

The shade in the middle with the uncut ends would look cool as a hanging pendant lamp in my bar.
