Awesome work on the big guy Will , really like how you carved the mouth . I've got a few hip pieces with a similar style that I've been think'n bout having go at.
Logs look'n pretty stable as well.

WC

Got this guy to his new home last week.
Soon to come is lighting & land scape.

Awesome Will, what a massive headdress!

H

Wow, impressive.

P

Would've looked better in GROG' backyard. :x

Very cool. Nice to see some originality.

He's gonna look killer with lighting and vegetation. Here's a view from the street...

Wow! Beautiful! Amazing work Will!

The tiki and the scenery are a great compliment to each other Will, a fantastic job- Well done! I think his name should be Lance Neckstrong.

T

He looks killer in his new home! Congrats to the new owner!

Nice Tiki!

now THAT'S a headpiece!

Very well done tiki! Can't wait to see the lighting pics!

P

ok man, I wanna see how you're gonna top that last one...

I'm thinkin' we start with a ten or twelve footer this next time around.. lol...

I want to thank everyone for your kind comments
and for your thoughts.

Remember my bud I carved the 4 table legs for?
He's getting the coffee table together.
It's no average coffee table.
It holds everything from coffee to ammo.

So he has requested an extra embellishment.
He gave me the wood, it's walnut.
About a foot long. 3/4 in thick.

That table is really cool. I assume it has hidden compartments?

It was great meeting you and talking shop at Hukilau.

P

the shark is lookin' good bro...

This solid chunk of mahogany is about to
become a box of some nature.
It has a lizard on top. Go figure.
Now I know what your thinking.
What's Tiki about that?
Guarding the box content on each front
corner will be 2 big head moai
if all goes well.

Nice new work Will, the box is going to be killer!

WC

Lots of action in the creating thread.
15 days & I'm booted to page 2.
Just hacking on my box.
Lizards are harder to carve than you might imagine.

P

an appropriate piece for the lizard king!

I like it...

I'm not the one to ask but hell yes it's tiki and a wonderful job of it Will! Every detail is imaginative and well done, great work.

Holy Moai box
That freekin kicks ars.....
Way sweet

Jon

H

Yes it is tiki and it is gorgeous.

Just call it a gecko and not a lizard, and it can be considered Tiki.

P

eh, who cares. rules are boring.

the beaten-dead-horse topic of "what is tiki" and "what is not tiki" over there in the general forum is enough to make wanna me throw up already... jesus...

and I dig it... it's a killer little box...

Seems I've seen a lizard motif in several Moari carvings. Then again, I'm no expert. As Jeff said, it's a killer box!

excellent work! I bet it was difficult to match the 'hands' across the gap between the lid and the box...

Whats new?

I've been muddling along lately.

H

Muddling is good. :)

And you would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those muddling kids.

P

I'm gonna go pick those hairballs up as soon as all this rain quits...

Sweet

Looking awesome, Will. You like carving Oak or are you using it because of what they will be used for?

WC

Still muddling.
They're fun & go fast.
I like Oak & it could be a better choice.
These are Mango. My fave. They carve good,
soft & constant. Cool colors too.

The one roughed out on the far left looks like he may have something in common with the "Wangaroan".

Awesome stuff as always Will.

Wow, I really dig those muddlers.

nice work, love the hands on the second from left guy!

WC

Here's the line up of usual suspects.
I'm trying to do some different things
& still keep it Tiki.
Then it hit me like "The klud".
