Cool new work Willy!

Jimflies - I liked your idea so much that I dove into my box of pieces/parts and whipped this up. One broken lamp and coat hanger wire...

All I can say is AWESOME....
:)

Thank you Jon.
I'm glad so many people can enjoy it.

Here's more frond guys.

T

Hey Will, luv the frond pendants! What are you using for the lamp bases?! Give me some clues. :P

Ohana was fun.
So much so one took pics.

I've been doing so much lately,
all but carving.
So no pics.

Every one liked the lamps.
I have a few left.
The base of the lamp is 1x10 pine.
Coco nuts have a triangle shape.
I cut the shape & shaped it to an edge to
match the nut with an angle grinder.
I counter sunk the screws holding the nut down
& gave it 3 lil rubber feet.

After crying about no time to carve this morning
this coco nut fell out of the tree &
a plan came together.
These don't take long.

H

Love it.

T

hey will, thanks for the lamp tips. gotta get me some coconuts!

Same carve but look how the shape of
the coco nut affects the carve.
Kinda looks like Trump.

:)

It's a Ku muddler.
He's spent a life as a balister
for a banister.
Now he's gonna hang out at the bar.

That a made a difference &
I'm not sure if I got if I've got it right yet.

Killer coconuts and muddler Will!

Muddler looks great. I picked up a picture of your Moai in situ...

Look,
that guy put it in his surf shop.
That would be a good ending to the story but
2 people wanted it.
He took his wallet out first & it was his.
This lady was bummed.
I promised to carve her one exactly like that.
I carved that about 12 years ago &
don't do them like that any more.
That was tuff to go back to.

I carve coco nuts real green & fresh.
That makes them ezer to cut but
they shrink as they dry.
The more this shrank the more disappointed I was.
Until I saw the more it shrank the cooler it looked.
Almost shrunken head like.
Better than I carved it.

Awesome

Just updated my post on:

General Tiki
Hawaii 5-0

(Added season 10 pics)

there is one that reminds me of your coconut heads.
:)

WC

Another balister brother muddler.

Can't help but think about this song (with a slight alteration)... Muddling About... kinda approriate??

Beautiful work Will!

More great work as always Will, love the green carved coconut. I don't know if you ever made shrunken heads out of apples? Same concept, carve them wet and they develop character as they dry. I tried it once with a big fat sugar beet but it didn't work  (random internet beet picture, not mine)

^^^^^

WC

This could be the most misshapen log
I've ever carved.
It's taken a week to carve this into a shape
I can start to carve into a Tiki.

H

Looks like a lipstick. :)

Oh dang
Going huge again
Can't wait

Cheers

What kind of wood?

We need an update! I know you've gotten farther.

WC

This guy is Oak.
7 ft. with 2 ft. base.
This has been a chain saw event so far.
I'd like to get it finished & installed by
the 28th if possible.
It's a simple carve & I did 2 practice carves so
it should go quick.

Just a few details & I'm done.

Wow
U be lightening fast
Lookin sweeeeeeeeeeeet

Another master work Will.

What he did not state is that the shaping of the log took almost as long as the carving. Can't wait to see this standing!!!

Well,
You saw it here first.

H

Your tiki looks perfect in this setting, great carving as usual.

Instant Classic!!!!!!

Awesome
Did I say awesome
:)

Strong work Bruddah

It looks perfect at the Mai Kai Will!

I haven't posted since last year.
I haven't carved anything.
I've had a full plate.
I did paint a license plate &
that was a first.

But now, & I don't know what got in to me,
I'm making a Witco style fountain.
It's about 7 1/2 ft tall - 3 pot.
I did the carve before x mas &
I'm putting the cart before the cart here
but now I'm trying to get the fountain part to go
or flow.

Surround it with a couple o' plants and call it good.

Keep it inside n fill her with rum
:)

He's got it going and only needs a few minor adjustments before putting the whole thing together. AND Wow! Can't wait to see the whole thing.

H

Exciting news.

Everything you do is golden Will, can't wait to see it :D
