I picked up this Cram Imperial globe this weekend. I believe by the countries on the map it is post soviet era. Has a great MCM look to it. |

I walked into a local anitique store the other day and saw this nice MK-9 depth charge. Nearly three feet tall and the real deal. I didn't buy it but I tought it was unusual. Never know what will turn up out there. |

WOW! Trav, I'm in love with that depth charge! I agree. All it needs is a nice, round piece of glass. |

I would have loved to add the depth charge to the bar but the price and lack of room combined to kill the deal. On a side note I spotted another hundred pound dummy bomb yesterday while junk hunting and left that behind as well. It seems like this stuff is coming out of the woodwork around here. |

Awesome stuff BK. I love the models! I picked up this Hans Wegner style rope lounge chair yesterday. A good Indiana thrift store find for $20. The rope weave is in perfect shape. These lounge chairs are very comfortable to sit in. Strange to see a nuke plant looming over the town there. My shirt glows enough without any external help :D |

Thanks BK. I've been on the hunt for a new watch to wear while I'm not at work now for awhile. I wanted to go vintage and mechanical but could never decide on what to get. I got inspired by a junked up trophy I found with a vintage diver on it. Long story short, I went with a Vostok Amphibia Russian divers watch. Built like a tank. They have been making this same design since the 60's. Brand new with a cool vintage design and an automatic mechanical movement and waterproof to 660 feet! Though technically not a find you can pick these up for around $70. Next time I'm diving for gold bars on the Atocha I'll be ready :D |

Had a good yard sale weekend here despite the heat. Scored an entire Pioneer stereo system from the late 80's. Tuner, amp, cd player, graphic equalizer, dual cassette deck, turntable and remote control with original manuals all in a glass front Pioneer stereo cabinet. No speakers but everything is in amazing condition and the cost....$5 bucks. Couldn't believe it. Also got this very rare Coca-Cola airline suitcase cooler that stewardesses used on flights. Note the bottle opener mounted on the side. It was one of those moments when your brain says "You've never seen one like that, you BETTER buy it." SO I did. I once was lost.....but now I'm found..... nui 'umi 'umi, Thanks. I'm the one who posted that cooler. And to answer your question about the stereo turntable, Yes it does have the stylus. I was really excited to find this stereo because I always liked Pioneer products. I think this dates from about 1988. I just added a photo of my find to my original post. Rock on! 8FT |

Sorry 8 FT. Musta been the Aviation and Blue Moon cocktails that fuzzed my brain all up. Mahalo for posting the pic of the “components”. A setup like that was a must have when I was a young man. |

Found this little beauty at a thrift store yesterday. Full on art nouveau design. At first I thought it was a car mascot due to the threaded base and the design in the style of French artist Luciel Sevin. After some research I was able to find out it is actually a figure for a lamp made by the Aladdin Lamp Co. In 1938. At 11" tall an impressive and beautiful piece and rare indeed. You never know what you will find out there and that's what keeps me on the hunt. |

Scored this awesome industrial stool today. I have been looking for a vintage one for my basement shop for a while now. I tinker around and on occasion build a miniature hut at the bench in the winter. Today was the day I found the perfect one. Made in the 1920s by the Angle Steel Stool Company of Plainwell Mi. They are still in business and only ten miles from my house. I'm a happy man. It's hard to believe the prices people ask for these vintage stools but this one was a deal. Found some cool stuff lately. First is a cool 1963 space lunchbox. This box was recalled because the manufacturer used an image of the Mercury capsule from National Geographic magazine without permission. Next is a very rare CROWN PR-350 tube pocket radio. The missing link between transistors and tubes from around 1950-55. Super cool!! And this small mid century modern fish wall plaque. Picked up this gorgeous 1890 Rochester Optical Co. THE IDEAL glass plate camera. It is in a big 8" X 10" format. From a time when craftsmanship really mattered. Hand made with brass, leather, mahogany and American cherry woods. It is in outstanding shape for it's age and the photos can't show just how nice the camera really is. Just awesome! That's a 12oz bottle for size comparison. |

Nice mule mug! Here is a rare find. Here is a tuxedo jacket for a captain of the wait staff from the original Flamingo Casino in Vegas. Dating from the late 40s to the early 50s. Found at a local thrift store. Missing a couple of buttons but the fact that the thing even survived all these years is amazing. Gotta love the hunt. |
