Here is another huge inking I finished up at Musink...this sucker is about 16x20...and is all ink brush and then micron pens for the detail. I'm going to go in now and watercolor him....the Ganesh and all the hindu gods are a fantastic subject that has got me generating piles of sketches around so I'm excited to try and explore these some more....enjoy!

BT

Really great style on those pieces. They are gonna look awesome when you get them colored in, can't wait to see 'em.

Where's his little rat buddy sidekick?

Rats way kool .

Kenny, Big Toe ain't got nuttin' on my daughter's bedroom!

Please don't look too hard - you may see things you wish you hadn't!

Hoarderline!

MOST Definately Dawn! I'm bad, but DAAAAAAAMN - she's crazy outta control! Most of that stuff is clothing and popcans. I'm still looking for forks, spoons and small plates however! The worst part is she doesn't even REALLY live here anymore!

B

SORRY! Thread hijacking! My bad.

C

Ahahah....don't make me unleash the Ganesha on you thread jackers!!!

Ganesha would do nothing of the sort!

Ganesha is known as the Remover of Obstacles
Lord of Beginnings
and also Obstacles(Vighnesha, Vighneshvara)
But of all he is patron of arts and sciences
and the deva of wisdom and intellect...

just thought you might want to know
since you're painting him.
:)

Just finished up this study for the 30x20 painting commission that I'm finally getting ready to start on! Remember kids, if you're too drunk to drive, find a DD!!

When you gonna post all your NEW work in the Gallery section of TC....
This Other Crafts area is NOW for questions ,step-by-steps,and tutorials,Sir!

the Artist colony /commune awaits thee!

Looks great man :D

Thanks guys.....

Well I started this sculpt about 6 months ago and with the move and everything else, it got left for dead. Well this weekend I went back and worked on him and got him finished and ready to be cast....

Here is the process...Tikipus Shifter know...

Where I left 6 months ago...

Working on the skulls with the original inspiration sketch on my table...

Roughing out the skull shapes...

Roughing in the nose and more skull work...

Cooked and hardened the skulls and nose..now on to the mouth and eyes

Skipped ahead a bit and the mouth is and eyes are roughed in...

last touches and just about done...just cleaning him up.....

Last item, roughing in the dlo sig on the back...finished and ready for casting next week!

Not only does this shifter fit sweet in the hand, I think I might make a custom dagger as it just fits nice and with those skulls about the top is just asking for a blade...we'll see!!

Sweeeet. Super sculpey?

H

What a great design for a tiki mug. Your work is so interesting.

Who's taking those pictures?
BOTH your hands are in the photos...
did you sprout another hand?
how does that work?

Thanks TC peeps...that is super sculpy mixed with super sculpy firm....about 3 parts SS to 1 part SSF. I like the gray color of the firm but it's a bit too crumbly on it's own. I have paparazzi in the studio at all times...like TMZ just stalking around taking pictures.

Building the mold box today and hope to pour the mold tonight if things go well....

L

that looks awesome!

One of my man friends has a tiki shifter but its nothing compared to that.

Looking forward to seeing them pull from the mold.

Oh and on a side note I will send you that frame this week. Its sitting on my coffee table as I type this..I need to find motivation to get to the post office :)

Thanks Liz! Yea I've seen some shifter out there and want to give it my own spin and make something that fit nicely in the hand. This also feels good as a handle on a large knife or dagger so we'll see if I can find some cool blanks....

BT

That is really sweet. But you're gonna tease us with only half of the sketch? What's that all about???

Here you go....sorry about that......posted before and made a t-shirt of it...

and the tshirt....

I'm thinking of sculpting a version once I finished this one, with the octopus.

Starting to pull the first casts from the mold....and playing with some tinting....

also casting a few other favorites...

WOW!,cool to see your art in another dimension .....

Just finished the new tikis....and they are now available....here...

Hey bud, a mate of mine is going over to Viva Las Vegas and is wondering if you'll be there?

Hey Bud!

Unfortunately I'm on the waiting list but didn't get in for a booth. I'm hoping to make it in next year with my full setup...Next big event for me is Ink and Iron in Long Beach at the Queen Mary....but no Vegas damnit.

It's not too late to get on the TONGA HUT PARKING LOT SALE if you're still looking to vend stuff. It's free vending and you don't even have to drive as far as Vegas.

Wish I could make it Grog...all this traveling has me backlogged and jammed up. Have a great event!!!

Another reason to NOT get an automatic.

Thanks for posting that pic and the shirt, great design and love how you did the blue with the octo and background back and forth.

Wow! Great work!

Thanks guys! I have an automatic too so I'm going to have to get a stronger antenna and jam one on the end!

so cool keep up the good work

Time for a new tiki commission to roll through the table!

Here is a 20x30 painting based on my previous Tiki DWI ink study...

Here is the original study..

...and now on to the painting process....

First up, working on the background....

...coming soon the fun parts!!!
