It was nice to carve, however, I had one piece that had a big dead spot in the middle, that had been grown over. You would have never known by the outside of the log. Grows fast with big logs, super moist, and can have a cool grain.

They're fine elsewhere, and I even tried to pre-rotate it 90 degrees before uploading...?! ANyway, this tiki is 3 feet tall, and carved from Kukui Nut tree. Background is Lawai, Kauai.

So I did a little more to the eyes on this one. A friend and neighbor works with shell to create pendants, and I had him cut me a pair of eyes from some Tahitian black mother-of-pearl. I then inlaid them and added a little detail to get this. Now it's really done! and a front view of the whole tiki
