thanks for posting the close ups, and the different views. It shows off the way the whole tiki has continuity back to front. I agree with Aloha, the checking just adds to the vintage look to this incredible carve. Killer stuff!! |

I've carved some Ficus/Banyan. It was nice to carve, however, I had one piece that had a big dead spot in the middle, that had been grown over. You would have never known by the outside of the log. Grows fast with big logs, super moist, and can have a cool grain. |

Here's a nice photo of my newest tiki, but for some reason, pics I upload to TC are coming out sideways. They're fine elsewhere, and I even tried to pre-rotate it 90 degrees before uploading...?! |
