Two words...very impressive!

Thanks great to hear from you all again. I will try and post more progress shots as this project develops. The flat scrolled area on the carvings under the fish tail are for mounting brass ship lights on and these carvings are to go behind the bar.

I am travelling to the states again in three weeks bit of holiday bit of business and will be visiting the LA area so will of course be at Don the Beachcombers and Trader Vics and popping in for a visit with my friends at Oceanic Arts. So if you are around between 11 Feb - 28 Feb drop me a line so we can catch up. I will be heading to Palm Springs for modernism week in the middle of this trip.

those are absolutely beautiful!

Mr Thorn this is great work!!
Love the sign you did.
Keep the pics commin.

Hi guys - back again - see I said Id post more photos - this is a trophy I was commissioned to do for a Pinup Competition - they asked for a 50's style shoe and I ran with it - and of course I may have got a little carried away...

Enjoy - Back soon

Clean, inspiring work as usual Marcus! Good to see you enjoy all the variety that comes with wood carving!
I've come to enjoy many other subjects as well and not focus entirely on tiki carving. It helps with the Oceanic Art in the long run anyhow
as new techniques are discovered! Thanks for the update!

M

That turned out nicely Marcus! Well done!

Mahalo for sharing.

McTiki

Great way to change things up - Carry Away! Look forward to seeing it finished.

More progress shots of the Pinup shoe trophy

Back with the finished shoe soon

Sweet
