Excellent piece!
Trump IS a media Sideshow freak indeed!
i can't believe they wanted this clown to monitor a Presidential Debate!
Fred and Randy Johnson would grin big if they could see this homage!
Another Awesome painting Sam!
You're a Jewel!
:)

LOL!

Thanks so much, Kinny! I painted it with Fred and Randy in mind, concentrating on outlining things rather than blending in some cases! Thanks too for your kind words, Chuck!

I love it...you have done an excellent job of capturing the essence of the premiere comb over!!!

Thanks VampiressRN! I guess it might be considered a "power-combover"! I appreciate the kind words!

Here are two recent commission paintings: tiny buggers at 5"x7"... Thanks for looking!

Great job Sam! I always like seeing the Mummy.

Those are, unsurprisingly, tremendously awesome! You always bring a welcome blend of happy nostalgic reminiscence and high art, with just a touch of creepy.

...but I like creepy........

Thanks so much, ZeroTiki! It's always great to hear from you....

Excellent likeness on all three. I really enjoyed looking closely at them, Wendy

Thanks so much, Wendy! I appreciate your kind words! They were fun paintings to do, and I don't normally do small paintings like these.

Great work as always Sam!

Thanks so much, Sneakytiki! It's great to hear from you!

Thanks so much, Chuck and John! I am doing my very best to keep the Rondo Hatton torch aflame. I painted him a few years ago as the Bowling Swami (prints available too, just in case anyone at all was wondering....) Heck, I think I still have the original painting.....

The coolest, dude!

This one is very nice, maybe even super-deluxe.

Thanks so much, Blue Kahuna and Professor G! I appreciate your kind words!

Saw this new one on FB
but i like to look at it here on TC
cuz there's less distractions....
I'll say it again Sam
excellent painting!
great blend of colors (where the ceiling and walls meet are an excellent example of how a master can show depth just by placing 3 colors together! The texture on the outside sidewalk is perfect and subtle....and that band of bricks...perfect! The green tiki head makes for an excellent focal point! And i'm really stoked you managed to get an abstract in there as well! MOSTest EXCELLENT,Sam!

Wow! Thanks so much Ken! I gotta say that I love that review. I was really close to doing the tiki in orange, but then I threw caution to the wind, and used the crazy green. Thanks a bunch!

Very nice Sam, where is the silver leaf used?

I also saw it on facebook but again I'll say, awesome! I'll be seeing this one live and in person in a week!

Hey Mad Dog Mike- Thanks for the kind comp! The specks in the charcoal gray wall are composed of the silver leaf, just to give a sparkle to the painting.
Hey Robert - Have a great time! I wish I could be there. Thanks too for the kind words!

Thumbs up, Sam!

I really dig the eyes, they set the tone nicely.

The "I WAS A" implies his carousing days are over, also being a reckless playboy must have taken a toll on his health, his bank account, his independence etc.

I can't help to think, is this statement a boast or a plea for redemption?

BRAVO! G

Thanks so much, Ken and TikiG! Hey Ken - I think he may have been MORE of a misfit than the typical shriner!

TikiG- I think our boy merely has a story to tell - a sort of testimonial about his worldly past and what he has learned from it all. He would probably not recommend that one lives the life he knew, but he did it his way, and wouldn't change a thing.

Z

BRILLIANT!!!

It's a great piece!!

Maybe saying misfit shriner, is like saying a smart professor, or an efficient secretary, or a corrupt lawyer.

-Whystler

Thanks, ZeroTiki and Whystler! Whystler - You have a very good point there!

Tiki Central needs a like button, you did an awesome job on the ape!

Thank you, Bloody Good! Not a bad idea at all! :)

Wow Mr. Cash looks like a photo. Your painting is that good. My husband Dan plays vinyl records every day so I've heard Cash's music played in our tiki room so it all fits together. We also have ape's in the Buzzy bedroom, not our guests just the stuffed kind. Good job on the misfit too. Wendy

Thanks so much, Wendy! I think that Johnny Cash crosses all kinds of boundaries too, and hey, tiki should be no exception! :wink:_________________
