^ !!! what he said...If that's 4 feet, I need to re-calibrate my tape measure. :) It would take me the rest of the year to carve that but I suspect you will make quick work of it.

P

lol...yeah that one's close to 7 ft...

the other ones are 4 or 5... maybe one 6 footer...

yeah, I have a meeting with a major resort here in a couple of weeks to discuss "tiki weddings", and I need to roll in there with a few stunners... this could be a big money deal...

P

another one of these....this one holding a rum bottle...

I'm gettin back on top of the tikis tomorrow...I have several things I need to get in process....

oh yeah, and new t-shirts for the ladies...

P

next up...

swirlies!

P

busted these out this afternoon....

P

Mahalo

McTiki

wow! I like those swirlies...

P

thanks guys...

I have to do something about this mask soon, I can't stand how it looks right now...

I was gonna do my normal "spike treatment", but I've decided to give the eye-mask the same look at the posts...so they kinda "blend together"...

Will likes to mess with me and say "yeah that looks like something YOU made...", so I figured I needed to come home and make something cool....lol...

The attention to detail adds a lot pjc, nice work!

P

thanks Cy...

so, today I did a demo for some little kids at the Beach Park Academy in South Tampa...

I gave the tiki to the school, and tomorrow they are going to stain him. I think they enjoyed the show... not my best work, but I had a very limited time window, so I had to hustle through it...

P

a couple of future surfboard tikis.

haven't done one in a while. they're for a buddy of mine who shapes boards, and I guess they're gonna be onstage at an upcoming Beach Boys concert coming up at the Hard Rock Cafe here in Tampa...

C

This is a really nice looking tiki, keep chizzlin' on that headdress and you'll be happy.

P

oh yeah man....I still have "miles to go before I sleep"...

but today I had to do something with the eye mask because it was bugging the shit out of me....

I like this tiki much better now...

oh yeah, today is MARATHON DAY....I am seriously gonna get some stuff done today. Let the chips fly!

P

marathon day!

H

Very nice.

Now that's funny.
Sorry it sounds so biting, don't worry
I say the same thing to Tom.
BTW I likee.

P

hey, it's all good man. I'm glad you say shit like that.... it inspires me to make better stuff!

P

burned & stained these masks this morning...

"primitive mod"

P

the head-dressification continues...

Cool masks! The bark works well with the simple shapes.

P

yeah bro, sometimes it's fun to make something real rough & simple...

so yeah, here's what I've made so far today...

a fishing rod holder with a bass, and a surfboard tiki...

P

ok, another rum tiki... this one in cedar...

P

ok, he's startin' to look like a tiki...

Love that two-tone. Seriously rad.

P

working on the headdress again today and chiselin' up the swirls, which kinda look kinda like cinnabons...

it's making me hungry... lol...

[ Edited by: pjc5150 2013-07-09 13:06 ]

P

I gotta get rid of that blocky shit and make them all nice and round.

like boobies... big cinnabon boobies...

P

ok, I was up & fired up early today...

doing 3 more surfboard tikis today, the first of which is almost done...

and these 2 are on deck...

I also cut the outline of this future mailbox tiki...which I am stoked about...

P

I'm doin' these next 2 as recreations of "kahona"... a famous concrete tiki from the now gone "tiki gardens",... which was a local tiki attraction back in the day....

Awesome

P

kahona lives!

Man, you're really cranking em out despite the summer heat. Love the surfboard stands and the cedar.... You should consider going into the sawdust mulch business... seems like you're producing a lot of that as well...:)

P

yeah it's a mess out there for sure...lol....

P

mailbox tiki rough draw-out...

P

ok, tomorrow I'll cut the headdress and then put the chisels to him for some detail....
