1/2 oz Falernum #9
1/2 oz simple syrup
3/4 oz lime
12 oz Kona Longboard Lager.

Is this a thing? 'Cause I feel like it could be a thing, or at least the basis for a thing.

Looks like a shandy by way of tiki island.

Shandy! Thanks, I knew there had to be a category for it.

Now you just need to give it a sexy name. Like, Wakerider's Shandy or Skull Island Cooler or Chief Sandy's Shandy...

I was considering "Waverider" Shandy since it uses Longboard. Might go with that.

Hamo Blamo V2, substituted 4 oz ginger beer for ginger syrup and club soda.
Don't know if I would make again... Ginger is very forward.

Club Babita......

I second “Waverider Shandy” and look forward to trying it myself.

I really need to get some navy strength rum so I can try a Hamo Blamo, then I can check out your ginger beer substitution.

Then Waverider Shandy it shall be! I've been able to build on the initial experiment into what's below - upped the spice and balanced a bit more juice against the hoppiness of the lager:

3/4 oz falernum #9
1/2 oz simple syrup
3/4 oz lime
1 oz pineapple juice
12 oz chilled Longboard

Be warned - the pineapple makes this foam like mad!

Hey Jon, Good looking Drink. Your recipe anything like this?

1 1/2 oz Pimm's #1
3/4 oz Lemon Juice
3/4 oz Simple Syrup
1/2 oz Kronan Swedish Punsch

Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

Got it from the Cocktail Virgin Slut site. They serve it in a teeny Martini glass. I like your fishbowl mo betta-I’d probably swallow the Martini glass.
Cheers

Krakatoa Punch- it's not perfect but close enough. Since I don't have Pyrat I substituted Don Papa 10 Year for my second rum, I'll try something else next time.

Another Krakatoa Punch variation has led to a bizarre discovery.

This time I substituted the Pyrat with St. Aubin 1819 Vanilla Rum from Mauritius. Not the best vanilla rum from the island, but the only one I could get at the duty free in the airport. Never cared for it so I occasionally try to mix it into things hoping for an improvement.

Then this drink happened and I learned that orgeat, passionfruit, guava, orange and pineapple juice when combined with vanilla rum tastes like.... a banana. It tastes great, despite the strange way I came to this flavor. I may make all my Krakatoas like this from now on.
