I just ordered the Hamilton Beach personal blender, due to arrive today.

I expect it to last anywhere from 1-8 weeks, ha.

Or at least until my girlfriend and I get back from Palm Springs and I've decided whether it's worth continuing my mocktail odyssey.

Dagg, I hope you are having a fun vacation. Are you going to make it to Tiki Ti this time around???

A

I have been trying out classic drink variations recently.

Last night:

Captains Grog (from Grog Log / Tiki+) & Trader Vics Navy Grog

Tonight:

Gill Man Grog (from Atomic Grog), Aku Aku Zombie (from Remixed), Captains Grog (again)... Appleton 12 neat

hic!

Drinking the Mai Kai's version of the Mai Tai, served in hollowed out pineapples and garnished with fresh edible flowers.

Two from Atomic Grog tonight: Gill Man Grog & Rum Julep. Both good :)

One from Tiki+ app: Steve Crane Kon Tiki 'Tiki Bowl'. Blergh, needed sweetening, for some reason pretty boring with or without.

Last drink of the night, it's gotta be a sipper: Elijah Craig 12

The Gill-Man Grog is mine, I am glad you gave it a spin.

A

I've given the Gill Man Grog a few spins now

feliz Cinco de Mayo- another great American holiday... chalupas and Mexican pizzas for everyone!

There's no method to my madness. I just grab ingredients from the bar and mix stuff up.

Although this is i believe the first time i've made a Painkiller. Not the right glass, rum, nor does it have Coco Lopez (i used coconut cream and coconut syrup) but it's quite tasty.

A

Previously I have steered clear of using Myers in most cocktails (it can be overpowering), however, it is making a come back in some drinks on my bar ~ maybe this could be a new 'everyday' mai tai combo: Appleton VX & Myers

Surprisingly good! :)

I have successfully subbed Myers's in the Painkiller at parties or when my less-experienced friends come over and can't really appreciate the usual (and more expensive) Pusser's rum. Yes, Myers's is a bolder molasses-ey presence. It's good to experiment with it, and I generally don't use it unless specifically called for. But there are times when its power can be helpful.

A

AceExplorer: I'm not surprised that Myers molasses flavour goes well in Painkillers, I use it in Coconauts :) my count of drinks where I use Myers over other dark Jamaican rums is about... 3 or 4.

I have been messing about with top shelf Mai Tais, the VX / Myers combo falls surprisingly high on my list :)

Next few drinks:

Yeomans Grog

Has anyone seen a proper Yeomans Grog recipe anywhere? I just added both honey mix & pimento dram

Wow Hang10, idk if I would admit to that much Fireball  Just kidding I drink it since the lady's love it.

I am having a Special Planters Punch. Thanks for the recipe HH!

Another with Coruba instead of Havana Club. I think it is better with Coruba.

Not sure I would advertise online using photos with traceable metadata that I was using what appears to be the embargoed version of Havana Club, but that is just a slight chance I suppose.
