edit:
I have to admit to being a sally and backing off the 151 Lemon Hart to the 80 for my second one...

I think that's why they call it a Jet Pilot, cause it gets you where you wanna go in a hurry!
One of my all time faves!!

I got a bottle of Crystal Head Vodka for Christmas this year. It's made in Canada at a distillery owned by Dan Ackroyd, and claims to be triple-filtered through "diamonds", whatever the hell difference that makes. Exceedingly cool decanter, looks great in the bar, but like every Vodka I've ever had, it tastes like grain alcohol to me. Read a couple of online reviews that claim it's got "vanilla and candy notes", but I think they're just hallucinating, under the influence of the evil Aztec skull...:)

In any case, I looked over some Vodka cocktail recipes in the Bum's books this afternoon, and decided to make the Hawaiian Sunset from Sippin' Safari. Pretty darn tasty, although I really need to start making my own Orgeat. The Torani syrup I'm using tastes like pure cotton candy with a hint of almond extract.

Firstly the classic Dry Demerara Float, followed by the equally amazing Navy Grog. On a Sunday night!
Thank you, thank you very much.

Tuesday night and I can't think of a better drink than
Aurora Bora Borealis
1/2 oz Lopez coconut cream
1/2 oz fresh lime juice, that I just picked from my tree
1/2 oz fresh orange juice, that I just picked from my tree
Teaspoon orgeat syrup
1 oz dark Jamaican Rum
1 oz light Puerto Rican Rum
Blend with ice pour into large cocktail glass
yummy on a nice warm evening. I love L.A.

Rumdinger Sailor Jerry with Kahlua splash of ginger ale . Damn Bruce Campbell for turning me on to these.

Head Shrinker is shrinking a bottle of wine
and I'm having Cuba Kulas.

Well seeing as it's the King's b-day, I'm drinkin a Sippin Safari "Blue Hawaii" and listening to the LP too!!!
I started off with one of those "they can be mighty strong" Mai Tai's while watching the movie, the only time I'll put pineapple in a Mai Tai...

"The reef" out of Beachbum berrys grog log with havanna club, cointreau, fresh lime juice and alize passion fruit liquer. My first shot at a drink from the grog log and what a perfect little ray of sunshine in this cold swedish winter!

I listened to Barnacle Dave and made the Reef, very nice. I used St. James Martinique rum and I am really liking it. This is a very simple drink to make but it has a nice combination of flavors that compliment each other.

Sipping Ron Millonario Sistema Solera 15 Reserva Espicial.
Made in Peru.

It's pretty good.

"The reef" again!

Port Brewing Mondo IPA @ O'Brien's.

Leftover.
Made an Ancient Marinier earlier this evening, with Pimento Liquor made by a bartender friend of mine. Now I'm drinking the remaining squeezed grapefruit juice w/ Saint James rum.

Port Light (Grog Log)
Surf Room Mai Tai (Intoxica!)

I never grow tired of trying new Mai Tai combinations. The MT I just mixed was with Clement Shrub/Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva/El Dorado 15.

Coruba and Blue Sky Jamaican Ginger Ale

Earlier it was a delicious La Favorite daquiri.

2 ounces of dark rum, an ounce of heavy whipping cream, and a can of A&W Diet Cream Soda. Put the first two items in a tall glass, pour the soda carefully so that you get a nice head of tasty foam but not too much.

Like sipping an ice cream soda, but with a lovely little buzz...

A little bad taste is like a nice dash of paprika.

Polynesian Paralysis from Grog Log

I figured since I make about a drink a night, I might as well start posting some drinks. Here we go...

Ancient Mariner. (Clearly I had a few sips before the picture was taken...I couldn't help it.)

Seventh Heaven. Gin, Maraschino Liqueur, Grapefruit juice.

Nice Craig !!

Right now, I'm enjoying a rum and pineapple juice with Bacardi 151 and an equal amount of Disaronno... kinda nutty... I like this stuff. I don't believe the classic faux tropical recipes use much amaretto, but instead they call for orgeat... for some nut flavor.

Cobra's Fang

I can't be the only one making drinks this weekend...
Mai Kai Rum Barrel- Recipe and Barrel courtesy of Ragin' Rarotongan

Big Bamboo. Nicely paired with a Double Del and chicken soft taco.

Beachbum's Own. My first drink with Licor 43; very interesting flavor, in a good way.

The Ford Cocktail...because my Ford broke down today.
