Sumatra Kula, made with 3 year old Havana Club. This is just perfect for this moment. Sometimes keeping it simple works the best.

Using up a little fruit left over from the weekend / Monday:

Pina Paradise

Ive now got round to having all the drinks from Tiki+ using Martinique rhum - Donga Punch, Three Dots & Mai Tais are all good. A Marlin is not. This is a good drink, like a fruity less spicy Three Dots & A Dash - I used unaged white agricole, I think it would be nice with an softer aged rhum (maybe a good introduction to agricole).

I looked at the small amount of grapefruit & half a lime I had left & thought...

1934 Zombie :)

Almost missed this post:

One of my faves rums in one of my fave drinks, I also add a few dashes of bitters!

a classic Oh Henry cocktail, subbing yellow chartreuse for the benedictine, adding a star anise garnish for aroma...

It’s officially Mai Tai Season!

Our pooch Wally likes his Pacifico.

I snuck in a couple on a quiet Friday night in:

Dons Own Planters Punch (the lemon & honey one)
Three Dots & a Dash :)

A DTB "Jet Pilot" except I dial back the Lemon Hart 151 to .5oz, boost the gold Puerto Rican (Don Q) to 1 oz, and keep the Jamaican (Kohala Bay) at 1 oz. I also use Abisenthe instead of Pernod. One of my favorite "End-of-the-week" drinks!

a frosty cold Smithwick's red ale... it's St Paddy's Eve!

Back at a friends

Last of the El Dorado

did all the heavy slamming of irish beers last nite.

tonight it's just a sweet smooth belt of Jameson 18 y.o.

Love that Jameson 18! Wish I had a bottle.

Drinking Guinness out of a plastic cup for $6.50 a piece. I am beginning to think this holiday is all hype.

Well I still have thanksgiving :)

dang, at least have'em drop a shot of whiskey and/or bailey's in that guinness for that price...

Book from Goodwill a few days ago

To sweet for me, wahine liked it...

I noticed the Mai-Tai called for 3 oz rum :)

After this weekend I will not be drinking until May, or so I will strongly attempt. So in the meantime I'm trying a few drinks that I've always wanted to. Last night was a Coconaut Re-Entry.

Oh So Deadly inspired drink.

3/4oz fresh lime juice
1/4oz fresh orange juice
1/4oz pineapple juice
1/2oz honeymix
1/2oz cinnamon syrup
3/4oz dark jamaican rum
3/4oz demerara rum
dash angostura

Turned out real good.

my buddy and I bought 64-ounce mugs so he could call his wife after football games and honestly tell her he'd only had one mug of beer!

:)

South Pacific Punch and Chief Lapu Lapu

Guinness draft floated on a half pint of Old Elephant Foot IPA (aka "dirty hippie?")

Yeah, it's a self imposed 2 drinks a night, it makes me a bit more appreciative (& less drunk). Sometimes i break it

Here's a relevant drink I had this morning:

Kona coffee is something I'd not seen before in the UK, looking to try out a few Atomic Grog recipes I subbed my regular coffee. Almost the next day I spotted this bag from Magnum Exotics - I subsequently have googled & found out a bit more. Ive been patiently finishing off my regular bag for a couple of weeks!

It made a nice morning cup of joe, I've got a week off so I'm going to be drinking it daily :)

Tonight's 2:

Coconaut followed by a London Sour

Volcano Bowl - the unholy trio of maple syrup, grapefruit juice and Smith & Cross

Worst sound ever, slurp of an empty tiki mug through my straw!!!

Edit- double the orgeat

[ Edited by: hang10tiki 2014-03-26 21:32 ]

Irish Cider:

1.5 oz Irish whiskey
3/4 oz dark jamaican rum
1.5 oz hard cider
1.5 oz lemon juice
1.5 oz agave nectar

mix up on the rocks. garnish w/ground cinnamon

tasty!
