I credit the Pegu Club with awakening my interest in gin a few years ago. The Pegu Club is interesting in that it comes across to me as having grapefruit in it, but as the recipe shows, that's not the case at all. It's magical, and tasty! The Pegu Club is on my home bar menu, and definitely one of my faves. |

Nice fleur! I had to look this cocktail up. I presumed green chartreuse might be involved, which I always enjoy, and found a recipe that includes green chartreuse, grapefruit, lemon, and egg white. I hope that's what your is, Below Decks, because I also found several websites with an alternative cocktail by the same name, but the "alternative" Green Elevator" sounds....well, "yuck" would be the kindest word I could think of: Beer and peppermint liqueur. Ick. cheers! |

Cask has it in their online store, which means you can probably find it in their brick & mortar stores in SF and Berkeley. Call ahead and see if they have it in stock. They'll usually hold a bottle for you if you call and ask. |

Well, I'm not drinking it right now, but I was drinking it last night. A Mai Tai in my 2010 Giants World Series Glass from Trader Vic's Emeryville. I'm trying out some new cocktail photography setups for my blog. I've almost got the effect I'm looking for. |

Tried the Mystery Gardenia/Gardenia Lei recipe as posted on the Atomic Grog. Looked spectacular but within seconds the butter, which we had melted, re-solidified from the cold of the ice shell... ...and looked like this.... Ended up tossing them which was a sad waste of 3 oz of Cana Brava and the time spent on the ice shells. Then made a couple Derby Daiquiris. [ Edited by: mikehooker 2016-03-09 22:08 ] |

I'm afraid it's not much more than the Spindrift from a mountain of crushed ice with 2/3 of the orange juice replaced with blood orange. Still good though, particularly when blood oranges are on sale. 2 oz blood orange juice Blend (or shake like mad), with 2 cups of crushed ice and pour unstrained into bucket mug or large snifter. |

Had a Billy’s Mule and a Hinano at Billy’s and my TikiQueen had a Mai tai. Rumor has it that they are considering introducing a variety of tiki mugs and possibly a Scorpian Bowl. Here’s a couple of pix of the mug that my Mule was served in. It’appears to be a knockoff made in China. The Mule use to be served in a “Warrior” (Maori) mug. |

the Founder's mango habanero beer was great! the 10% knocked me out, it was a bomber bottle. the first taste of each quaff is a bit too syrup sweet when it first hits your palate, like a fake mango flavor, but the habanero kicks in quickly and it balances nicely wit ha great finish. |

Nui - it was a special event tonight but they do have drinks served in these on their new menu called the Liberty Station Luau. They were tasty! I don't think they sell them, but if you ask they will likely let one go. I got a Malahat shot glass tonight, but I missed out on the False Idol double old fashioned Mai Tai glasses which totally sucks but I hope to get one later. Porp - yeah the sliders are good. They have a lot of small plate food items. You can get a bunch of different meats served in a bunch of ways. Tonight they had coconut chicken skewers and Mac salad. Food there is always great. I don't have the recipe. I know!!! I already had probably had my cocktail limit, but with that name I absolutely HAD to order it. It was very good. I recall Bourbon and egg whites. I'll try to get the recipe next time I stop in. It's a regular stopping place. Great food and bar. |

Enjoying this Midshipmen (self named) in a Tiki Diablo glass. Fresh squeezed pink grapefruit juice with lime, cinnamon syrup and a dash of bitters. I recommend a nice golden rum for this drink. This one is made with yellow label Lemon Hart 80. That's right, I have a small stash of it left. Because the Lemon Hart is a Demerara, I don't uses as much cinnamon syrup as I normally would.
