Imbibing on a drink inspired by Kahuna Kevin Vol. 1 Black Eddy. 5 rums, citrus, little juice and dem. ss. My rums, which differ are Meyers, Cruzan Black Strap, LH151, Koloa and Screech. Little of each, now. Balanced out. Tasty with a heck of unique flavor. A fun one!

It was 102 degrees in LA today, so Pimm's No. 1 Cup

Here's the recipe:

http://lowbrowliterati.com/pimms-no-1-cup-around-the-world-in-10-bottles/

My Mai Tai . . . 1 full lime juice, 1 oz De Paz simple syrup, 1 oz grapefruit juice, 1/2 oz Cointreau, 1/4 oz Orgeat, 1 oz Meyers Dark, 1 oz De Paz Blue Cane Agricole, 1 oz Lemon Hart 151 float (nice float eh?) . . . mint, TV's "Enjoy a Mai Tai in Paradise" coaster . . . paradise indeed :o)

remove the simple syrup, and you'd have the Papa Dobles of Mai Tais there...

Okole maluna!

Plantation Punch via the Tiki + app, using my homemade Falernum (batch #3)... good stuff!

Q

Love that glass Sir Richard!! I bet the drink is quite tasty with your homemade falernum. :)

Thanks Q-tiki, yeah, it's one of my favorite glasses (from the Huke Lau in Chicopee,MA)! And yes, the falernum tasted great in it! It was the maiden voyage for this batch, and it performed very well!

The Blue Kahuna

Having a drink of my own creation, a Partly Cloudy. Basically a modified Dark n' Stormy, I used soda water to cut the sweetness of the ginger beer, substituted Lemon Hart 151 in place of Goslings, and added 1/4 oz of falernum and 1/2 oz of lime juice. I like it better than a Dark n' Stormy!

Stumblebum tonight . . .

Mai Tai - Depaz, Meyers, de Kuyper, Torani, Depaz simple syrup, fresh lime juice, ice, mint all in a Harvey 's Sneaky Tiki mug ... yum!

. . . oops, forgot to mention some white grapefruit juice to the above Mai Tai . . . much prefer with the grapefruit juice!

H

Thought I would chime in and give Blue Kahuna a brake.

Tonight we are having a Good old Mai Tai, I just picked a couple of fresh limes off the tree and some fresh mint from the garden mixed in with a combination of Zaya and Pusser's Rum mixed with Merie Brizard Orange Curacao etc.etc.
All I know is it's good and good for you.

. . . anti-oxidants! Ole! And thanks for the respite, the pressure of having to keep the booze thread going gets to me sometimes :) . . . just some Fat Cat cabernet with my papardelle bolognese tonight, cheers!

I just fixed a couple of Paradise Coolers to celebrate demo-img some rotted deck stairs. Yum!
