I've just started mixing my own drinks at home, made a Bali Hai Mai Tai from Intoxica tonight.

H

Coconut Grove Cooler from Remix

3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
3/4 oz unsweetened pineapple juice
3/4 oz orange juice
3/4 oz orange Curacao
1 1/2 oz blended whiskey. I used Jim Beam
3 teaspoons passion fruit nectar or juice. I used Goya frozen pulp.
3 teaspoons grenadine. I used Torani pomegranate syrup.
1/2 teaspoon orgeat syrup
8 oz. (1 cup) ice.
Put everything in a blender and blend 10 sec. pour into glass and add ice if needed.

yummy
by the way isn't 3 teaspoons same as a tablespoon???

The Moruroa 1966 (Mark 1 Test Version)

3 semi-crushed ice cubes
1 oz. of Green Chartreuse (for the SuperMegaTonne Version, use 2 oz., but beware of the fallout (fall-over) factor...)
1/2 oz. of Pernod
2 oz. of Cointreau
2 oz. of pineapple juice
1 tablespoon of Tahiti lime juice
Coconut milk
1 radioactive sea snake (red gummy snake)

Place the ice, Green Chartreuse, Pernod and pineapple juice in a cocktail shaker.
Stir
Pour stirred mix into a Pilsner glass
Add radioactive sea snake
Add lime juice
Float congealed coconut milk on top
Add palm tree swizzle stick

My week was crap so fittingly I had Suffering Bastards all week but tonight made the Navy Grog.

T

With over 3 inches of new snow and counting.. topped off the shaker with snow... 6oz. of apple juice and 1oz. of Amaretto... shook the piss out of it and the resulting slush is frankly amazing. Try it... you'll have to agree. :)

Nothing.
I'm coming down with a cold.

Rumaki

This legendary appetizer of water chestnuts, sweetbread, and bacon first found life at Don the Beachcomber’s. What cocktail party in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s didn’t have this dish to help soak up some rum.

Lobster Rangoon

First served at Trader Vic’s in Saint Louis, this twist on the famous treat starts out with Lobster instead of crab.

Shouldn't they just be called a Gimlet and a Martini?

J

Yes, Swizzle you are 110% correct.

In a PERFECT world a gin martini and gin gimlet would be a tautology. (That's opposite of an oxymoron)

I blame James Bond and his f**kin' vodka martinis. What kind of NATO spy drinks commie VODKA martinis ?? That traitor.

Drinking a Royal Daiquiri (Remixed) in honor of Don the Beachcomber's birthday. Cheers!

I Enjoyed a great missionary's Downfall from the bums remixed book last night,Minty!!

Lani Honi

nothing,
what the fuck is wrong with me?

please don't answer that.
Jeff(btd)

Sazerac Cocktail. Hmmm, yum. With the Lucid, it becomes somewhat in the vain of a beachcomber...

did you twist the lemon over the surface of the drink, that's the key...

MN

Hell in the Pacific.

Enjoying my first bottle of Cruzan Black Strap by mixing it with ginger beer.
Delicious.

2 Shots Kraken, 1 shot of Drambuie, 1 shot of Kahlua... not too fancy, but not bad. Call it a Rusty Pirate.

the Spievak zombie.

hoowee-- that's tart!

Hart of Darkness using my newly acquired LH151. I may have a new favorite cocktail. :)

I have just enuf LH left to try that. Ima report back.

Hart of Darkness = too tart for me. I'd rather have 151 swizzle.

Hi,
Right now I am drinking vodka.

Made my first Dark & Stormy's, both strained through fresh ginger and not. Pretty good , but what goes well with ginger? I'm thinking of adding some thai or sweet basil anyone try anything like this?

After getting my LH 151 today...I just finished off a Zombie Punch about 45 mins ago

where's you get your LH, Tonga?

A Suffering Bastard with Barritts.

I still have two bottles of Barritt's left--what recipe you using?

I ordered 4 bottles from Binny's in Chicago. The second part of my order should arrive tommorrow.

cool. i didnt know anyone would ship down here.

MAI-TAI.

Imagine that.

you can't just say mai tai and leave it at that. you gotta describe the rums, the brand orgeat, how much lime, etc...

Oh, you know... Bacardi, Roses lime juice, almond flavored pancake syrup... the usual.

Actually, Appleton 12 yr, Coruba dark, Torani, Dekuyper curacao, half a lime... the usual.

W

Blue Hawaii, 1957 recipe from one of the Beachbum books.
I use Tommy Guns Vodka (comes in a M1921 Thompson submachine gun shaped glass bottle) in it, which is probably the smoothest vodka I've ever had and for the rum I used a pineapple/coconut rum for extra island flavor.

Classic Trader Vic's mai tai, what else.. ?? Some habits are hard to change..

I love the new mug though!
Aloha

spam sour!

rum, pinapple, oj,....recession tiki drink
