Was just enjoying a nice Makers Mark Old fashioned
at a little dive bar on 4th street in Long Beach
with Crazy Al, Doug Horne & Jungle Ginger

Put some X & the Cramps on the jukebox
Al ordered a pizza, then we hit a check point on the way to Denny's

Good Times!

Sounds like a great time ATP. I will have to start posting on this thread more often. I'm trying new drinks every week now it seems like. The most recent one was the Caribbean Punch outof The Bum's Sippin Safari book. It has sarsaparilla in it which is really different but its a great cocktail. Anybody else tried this?

Dark and Stormy

OK, maybe not my first, things seem a little out of focus.

...-

H

Martin Cate's Navy Grog

juice of 1/2 lime
0.75 oz grapefruit
dash of simple syrup, I used 1/4 oz pure honey not diluted
1 oz gold rum, I used Tommy Bahama, it's all I had for gold
1 oz dark rum I used Myers dark, wanted the drink to taste as close to TV's
version as I could.
1/2-1/3 oz Lemon Hart 151
1/3 oz grog concentrate

Came out pretty good.. yum.

HilTiki- Sounds good

Lemon Hart on ice...

Jon

H

Martin Cate's Mai Tai

1 oz zaya
1 oz Pusser's
3/4 oz lime juice
1/4 rock syrup
1/4 oz orgeat
1/2 Orange curacao

so good, yum.

H

OMG another Martin Cate mai tai or maybe more, just can't stop. I am the new hang10tiki...

I loves a dark rum mai-tai (altho i aint gonna use so much lime in mine)

Trader Vic's Navy Grog using their Grogg Mix (1/2 oz.), Smith & Cross, Cruzan White and Pussers and Honey Mix instead of simple syrup.

Then I'm gonn have to try one of those Martin Cates Mai Tais as I have all the ingredients.

Scupper my Uppers! Not bad at all.

Hiltiki u funny
:)

Coconut Coruba on ice

Ginger Mojito

Made with pineapple mint and homemade ginger syrup. Think the syrup needed more ginger, a white rum other than Bacardi, and well it tastes better than most Mojito's I've had but I've yet to be impressed by the drink.

Sapphire Martini with blue cheese filled green giant olives, I know it is not tiki but I am listening to Martin Denny as I drink....
yum.

I tried out a Blackbeard's Ghost so I could sample my new Apricot Brandy in something. It was nice. Then I made a "Thing" because it was late, I was tired, and booze.
And I was about to post this last night...then I woke up at 4:00am on the couch.
Next time!

Kilo Kai on ice

Black coffee yum

Don Papa rum straight from the bottle.

Yesterday Zaya on ice, wahine doing moose drool

Two schools of thought on the French 75. Some call for gin- others use cognac. I tried em both ways and the cognac version is a more flavoful drink . Don't let the champagne scare you manly dudes off- this drink packs a fair wallop.
1 1/2 oz. Cognac
1 oz lemon juice
1 oz simple syrup
shake w/handful brkn ice, pour into flute, top with brut champagne, garnish with a lemon curl and enjoy. Google this drink, been around since 1915.
Cheers

A variation of rum & coke that throws in a dash of gin. Not bad.

A TV Navy Grogg using 3/4 oz of the TV grogg mix, 1 oz of lime juice, 1 oz of white grapefruit juice, 1 oz of rum, 1 oz of Smith & Cross, and 1 oz of Pussers and 1/4 oz of rich simple syrup.

Nice drink!

ET

QB Cooler from Grog Log...........actually prefer this to the one in Remixed.

H

GentleHangeman, I just tried your Navy Grog recipe with all the same ingredients and it was very tasty, thanks for the info.

I didn't have a pineapple to drink from, but I have a bowl or two...
:)

Did not get a picture but went to a restaurant in Avila Beach today and I ordered one of their Mai Tais. They put strawberry puree in it which is a total new one for me. Was not too bad.

Its quite a dialog when you intellectual giants get together.

Jet Pilot (Atomic Grog)
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
1/2 oz orange juice
1/2 oz Falernum

1tsp. cinnamon syrup
1 1/2 oz gold Puerto Rican, I used Lemon Hart
