Aloha lunavideogames, I too had a Tiki Swizzle tonight, the new drink from the brand new Mai-Kai cocktail menu that made its debut on Friday ... I then returned to The Atomic Grog and whipped up a fairly accurate replica ... Recipe and rating coming soon. |

Very cool. Hope you liked the Tiki Swizzle! I am leaving Florida right now. I would have done one more day at the Mai Kai, but since it was cold we went to Disneyworld. Just 3 nights at the Mai Kai, I wish I had more time. They made me dance and everything. Great place. We will be back soon, hopefully for that last big event. Thanks for the birthday wishes! Glad you had a great time, and good to see you have your priorities straight: The Mai-Kai first, Disney World second :>) Here's the full review and story behind the Tiki Swizzle, plus my take on the official recipe: Okole maluna! |

This one from The Porpoise Dry-Tai From his prior post: i've advocated here for a while in favor of what i call a "dry" mai-tai: when i make a MaiTai "dry," i use a teaspoon lime, i prefer 1 oz dark rum and 1 oz demerara rum, myself. Thanks again Sir |

Hang 10, I'll need to try that recipe! My mai tai's are using up limes at an alarming rate and truthfully, their sourness is getting to my stomach. |

I'm enjoying a Navy Grog as follows: 1 oz. fresh lime I like this formula better than what came with the TV Grog Mix. I bet you feel more like you do now now than you did when you came in. GENT [ Edited by: gentlehangman 2014-01-23 15:26 ] |

For any of you that got Jeff Berry's new book (Potions of the Caribbean) and received that free imbibe magazine, there is a cocktail called the Poipu beach boogieboard that is published by Paul McGee of Three Dots and a Dash in Chicago. Had one last night. Very tasty. :) |

Forgotten Tikiman, I just made this drink and I was sure it was going to be real sweet with 3/4 oz. grenadine in it, however it was not sweet at all in fact it was a little tart. Thanks, I enjoyed it. |

not a fan of the stirrings blood orange bitters. the product tastes watery, is not spicy, and the orange flavor is weak. |

Man, that looks good Lance! The pic is nice too. Did you purposely take the shot slightly out of focus or are you overdoing the bitters? |

Harry K Yee's "Hawaiian Eye". Remarkable in that it is somewhat close in style to the "Reverb Crash", which to me, is one of the most refreshing drinks out there. I was out in my patio wok-cooking large quantities of Chinese food, and that Hawaiian Eye just hit the spot! |

Thanks David, no, it is just the use of a couple of Photoshop filters & I just used two shakes of the bitters.
Your are correct, The Stirrings is somewhat weaker and I find you need to use more to get that kick of flavor [ Edited by: Atomic Tiki Punk 2014-02-02 13:40 ] |

I enjoy the occasional Old Fashioned using Knob Creek bourbon (100 proof), but I muddle an ordinary orange slice and a cherry, and add a splash of seltzer water. |
