Here's another photo of the Bitter Storm from the other link on that page:

Their YouTube video would come up for me, something about it being marked "private."

I have most these ingredients at home -- no fresh grapefruit at the moment, and I don't have their brandy. So I'll sub the brandy. Looks interesting. Thanks for the tip, this will be tried very soon.

First thing everybody comments on are the bitters but it works. An aromatic, bitter, spicy drink.

1/4 ounce Maraschino liquor

Sorry, got sidetracked by Halloween and Hulaween at The Mai-Kai, including the new Appleton Zombie:

(Appleton Estate 12 replaces the standard gold rum)

So I went with a new Appleton 12 classic for the upcoming Cocktail of the Week on The Atomic Grog: Martin Cate's Pampanito

I've always avoided that because of their use of Bacardi. If I do order it I will probably ask for Appleton or Don Q, which should be behind the bar as Disney replaced Myers's Platinum with it as their Well rum. Definitely an upgrade.

Have the results been announced, yet? I'm interested to read how this went.

The results were just published:

http://www.slammie.com/atomicgrog/blog/2012/05/08/rums-of-the-mai-kai-legendary-lemon-hart-returns-to-the-promised-land/#151-compare

4.7 – Lemon Hart 151 “yellow label” - The yellow label product seems to be a little smoother and more complex, with just a bit more lingering nuances on the taste buds. To me, it tastes like a slightly more mature and polished product. But the difference is indeed slight.

4.5 – Lemon Hart 151 “red label” – Compared to the Lemon Hart yellow label, the newer version of the 151 Demerara rum seems to have a more aggressive nose, and slightly more up-front flavor.

4.4 – Hamilton 151 – Hamilton seems to have slightly more sweetness and vanilla, more boozy roughness and slightly less smoky spice. It also appears to have more of the raw “burnt rubber” notes that define 151 rums from Guyana.

They're all outstanding. I'd use Hamilton or LH red label in more complex drinks that needs the 151 to provide an aggressive punch. The old yellow label is better suited for simpler cocktails in which its complexity and subtle flavors can be appreciated.
