Red Nosed Zebra (Trader Sam’s)
1.5 oz. Bacardi 8
.5 oz lemon juice
.5 oz lime juice
1 oz Agave sweetner
1 oz Strawberry puree (unsweetened)
Shake for 10 seconds, pour into ice filled dbl old fashion, garnishwith mint and cranberries.

I unexpectedly (and happily) discovered Demerara sugar on the shelf while shopping at a big box store this past weekend. I snatched it up, made some rich Demerara syrup, and tried a Queen's Park Swizzle (using El Dorado 5) and Martin Cate's Henry & John (using my our spiced rum). Both were delightful.

Juliette Kitchen (Newport beach, CA) - Hemingway Daquiri with Lemon Hart 151 (tasty!)
Stopped in at a local kitchen for lunch today. Not only do they stock Hamilton's Jamaican Black pot stilled, they also STILL have the "new" Lemon Hart 151 red label.

First drink was a Hemingway Daq. Usually made with Mt Gay, but they were out so he used Lemon Hart. I have to say, it was actually really nicely balanced. Had to use red grapefruit, but even so, it was highly drinkable.

Drink 2 was a custom creation of Glenfidditch, Cynar, and black walnut bitters (there was another ingredient but I forget what it was!) For a rum aficionado, there was a great complexity of flavor to sip for a bit.

I will revisit Juliette Kitchen for more libations!

In my hazy drinking state, I just realized the red label Lemon Hart is the "old" bottle from the most recent incarnation in the States. NOT the new one, which went to a yellow label. Wow, so this one's been on their shelves for a while. Still was tasty. Bartender knew it had been out of circulation for a few years and had just recently come back, so I assumed this was of the "new" stock. But no!

The Below Decks Angostura Sour Master!

Yesterday I started at Tribune Tavern for a Vic's Fix.

So delicious. I think I had four of them.

Then a block over to Longitude for a Mai Tai.

Also had their Black Tot Grog and Shrunken Skull for the first time - both were excellent. I think I like the Black Tot better than the Navy Grog.

Scopa East India Cocktail!
