Recap of my recent indulgences:

Did an agricole showdown using the Donga Punch as the vessel to highlight the rums. Damoiseau won.

Clockwise from top left: Puka Punch featuring Plantation OFTD, Hot Buttered Rum in my new Vic mug a friend gifted me, Daiquiri featuring Lei Low's signature Haitian rum bottled by Plantation, and a Lost Lake in my new Lost Lake glass I got for Xmas.

Had a tasty version of a Zombie at Catch in Tustin, California. They call em “Walker” there and make them with Flor de Cana 4, Don Q Amber, and El Dorado 151. Also had a Hemingway’s Ghost (Daiquiri). They make three different versions-all using Papa’s Pilar Rum. Blonde, 24 yr. old or Cask. I had the Cask and it was good .
They use cinnamon in their simple syrup.I prefer the traditional recipe.
Cheers

Curious what menthe and cacao you used. My wife recently had a craving for grasshoppers and we got some mid level liqueurs for it. Some of those can be very pricey. Turned out decent.

We call it a Witco...
1 oz Cardamaro
1 oz Cocchi Americano
2 oz Spiced Run

Shake with ice. Pour into a cocktail glass. I like mine with a cherry.

My creative daughter helped make this video of it...

Looking for a good drink in Palm Springs on this Monday afternoon-all my fav tiki drink spots were closed.
Had a Last Word at “Trio” It was delicious and they also have a good looking cocktail menu.
Trio is right next door to the Shag store. They display some of his prints including the large one that shows a world map with a cocktail place of origin on it. That one might be a painting.
Cheers
Btw, my wife had a Mai Tai which was tasty. Purists-don’t order one. Trio adds a dash of Dole pineapple juice.

I've been doing 2 oz. rum with something between a dash and 0.25 oz. of the sirop and it's worked a treat.

Hanalei Island IPA from Kona Brewing Company - brewed with POG and tastes great. I'm not a giant beer fan, don't see the hype about IPA, but I gotta say this is good. I bought two 6 packs and that'll last me a year. I suggest trying some before it goes away.
