I'm headed to LV in a couple of months or less - Herbs & Rye is worth a stop-by? Their cocktail list is impressive!

Football was putting me to sleep so I whipped up a couple mutinies.

Last night after the feast, I made some Navy Grogs. Used Whalers, Havana Club Blanco and Coruba rums, and used the Trader Vic's Navy Grog concentrate along with lime and grapefruit juices, and simple syrup. So easy really, and they came out great.

somehow the shadow in that photo suggests to me what a Brazilian tan line might look like...

Daiquiri with a Luxardo treat waiting at the bottom.

Yummy three rum blend Mai Tai.

I was able to finagle a bottle of Stiggins last week. It's not gonna last long.

Eating a roll of Butter Rum Lifesavers at work, does that count?

I'm curious, seeing the Hamilton 151 in there, what your ratios were?

I'm guessing 1, 1, and .5 respectively

The Missus and I are taking a page from the Bum and are enjoying a Chief Lapu Lapu and an Eastern Sour, respectively.

Sticking with the habanero theme

1, .5, .5

I was gonna float the 151 then decided to mix it in and keep it at 2 oz rum with a little extra kick.

Full recipe:

1 oz Denizen
.5 oz Clement
.5 oz Hamilton 151
.5 oz Demerara syrup
.5 oz Senior Curaçao
.5 oz BG Orgeat
1 oz Lime

It was quite good. Still tweaking.

Love those lamps!

And I'm certain the drinks were all delicious.

I've been messing around with a three rum Mai Tai this week. Tonight I cut out the sugar syrup all together from the recipe I posted above. Next time I might up the Orgeat a little or swap the Clement for Appleton 12 and use creole shrubb instead of Senior curaçao. I fell off schedule of doing 30 Mai Tais in 30 days as I posted a while back but still chugging along and logging the results of every variation I make. I'll post my findings when I meet my goal.

ginger sea dog.

Preux & Proper Hibiscus Mule!

Just had a "simplified" zombie for the first time. Eh. Lacks a lot.

Clifton's Brookdale Golden Globe!

Cole's Sidecar!

Wanted to try something new tonight but couldn't decide what so went with old reliable, a Mai Kai rum barrel. Good decision.

A Melrose Umbrella Co, Last Word and Dry Rub!

Good friend in from LA last night
Went on a taste test flight :)

getting ready to try these tonight - both were bottled in the 1950's, one is a jamaican rum, the other an antilles rum - probably going to do a classic daiquiri with them
